You know that age-old tale about the groundhog predicting how long Winter is going to be based on whether or not it sees its shadow? Well, Mariah Carey is kind of like that with Christmas. This year, she decided the time for Christmas cheer was right after Halloween. She even went so far as to mark the start of the festivities with a whole production on her Instagram. No, seriously. She took a baseball bat to some pumpkins and it was a whole thing.

There’s Hallmark and then there’s Mariah Carey; both are just getting started for the year. Following last year’s Christmas Special, Mariah has partnered up with Apple TV+ once again to keep the magic flowing. She just announced that Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues found a December release date, so your living room can host all your favorite holiday tracks and a chorus of jingle bells. Tinsel, unfortunately, not included.

Mariah Carey Teases Her Upcoming Apple TV+ Christmas Special

Mariah Carey’s Instagram is never lacking in the Christmas spirit department and it’s just something fans have grown to expect over the years. YouTube even reported that her ’94 version of “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is the most viewed holiday song in the US every December. Her latest teaser video for Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues shows off some other holiday tunes and even a couple of familiar faces. The special premieres all around the world on Friday, December 3rd on Apple TV+.

Here’s your first look:

“I can’t just not celebrate Christmas with the world,” she says. And it’s a hard point to counter.

Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues boasts an impressive set and production. The stage will showcase the first-ever performance of Carey’s new single “Fall in Love at Christmas” as well as some much-anticipated guests.

The ‘Christmas Queen’ Says The More the Merrier

As with any Mariah Carey project, there’s a ton of glitz and glam involved. However, the true spirit of Christmas lays in spending time with the ones we love. Carey will actually be addressing this with the help of her 10-year-old twins in an interview with Zane Lowe ahead of the special’s release.

And although the special this year is a standalone feature in its own right, it scaffolds last year’s release which featured Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande. This year’s party guests are none other than Khalid and Kirk Franklin.

Along with Carey herself as an Executive Producer, Charleen Manca, Matthew Turke, and Tim Case also take on that role. Joseph Kahn takes home the title of Director, but he is also credited with some executive producing.
