On Thursday, Hollywood A-lister Mark Wahlberg wished his son a happy birthday, which the actor amusingly seemed worried about now that the family has three teenagers under one roof.
Wahlberg and his wife, Rhea Durham, share four children together: Ella, Michael, Brendan, and Grace. The couple’s eldest son and daughter are already in their teenage years. But Brendan, who just turned 13 years old today, is now the third teenager in the Wahlberg household.
As excited as his father is to celebrate Brendan’s September 16th birthday, it comes with some trepidation. Mark Wahlberg shared a heartwarming photo of himself with his arms wrapped around his son today. The father and son smiled for a birthday picture in their kitchen with balloons in the background marking the special occasion.
“Happy B day buddy! We now have 3 teenagers in the house,” a wary Mark Wahlberg wrote on Instagram.
It sounds like the Wahlbergs have their hands full at home. Not only does the couple have four children, but raising three teenagers is a full-time job unto itself. Wahlberg jokingly added a worried-looking emoji to his Instagram caption, but also added a pair of praying hands and a heart emoji as well.
Mark Wahlberg Gets a Helping Hand to Hilariously Wish His Son a Happy Birthday
Thursday is all about Mark Wahlberg’s son who turned 13 today. While we don’t know if the family of six had any major plans as they celebrate, Brendan’s father did share one special birthday message.
Wahlberg enlisted YouTuber and comedian Ed Bassmaster to wish his son a happy birthday in a hysterical message. Bassmaster makes comedic videos as he portrays various characters while pranking people and creating all-around awkward situations. One of the comedian’s most popular characters is Chip Diamond, a mullet-wearing smart aleck.
As one of Brendan’s birthday gift’s today, his dad had Bassmaster send his son a message while in character as Chip Diamond. In typical fashion, Diamond jokingly seems annoyed by Brendan’s birthday. He also hilariously calls Mark Wahlberg a member of New Kids On The Block. For reference, that’s Mark’s brother Donnie Wahlberg‘s boy band from the ’80s and ’90s.
“Special happy birthday shout out to Brendan – Marky Mark’s kid. That’s right, Mark Wahlberg from New Kids On The Block. Like I give a rat’s a–” Chip Diamond begins his amusing video message.
“Anyways, happy 13th, pal. Waste of time. Buzz off,” Diamond says as he shoos the camera.
“Happy b day wishes from Chip Diamond!! @edbassmaster,” Mark Wahlberg captioned the funny clip.
We’re not sure if Brendan is a fan of Ed Bassmaster’s characters, but the 13-year-old will surely get a kick out of the funny birthday message. It’s likely the most dismissive happy birthday message he’ll get this year. For Brendan’s sake, we hope that’s the case at least.
