Matthew McConaughey Drops Amazing Pic of Airstream Camper Nestled in the Woods

Now that’s an alright, alright, alright shot! Matthew McConaughey is currently “streamin” in his gorgeous camper via this latest update for fans.

As fans of the Texas icon know, Matthew McConaughey is an avid Outsider. From declaring national parks as “America’s best invention” to seeing the country via his glorious airstream camper, the actor and activist spends as much time in the great outdoors as one man can muster.

McConaughey’s not new to the game, either. According to the legend himself, his love of “streamin” stretches back at least to 1996.

“I’ve always loved drivin’,” the Texan told  Architectural Digest in 2008. “Drivin’ is – number one – where I get some time with myself. Number two – it’s the main place I catch up on music. And number three, it’s the best way to see the country,” he revealed.

McConaughey continues that in 1996, he “got a big GMC van—it’s called Cosmo—and gutted it and put in a bed in the back, a refrigerator and a VCR so I could watch dailies or whatever.”

The converted van turned out to be “pretty cramped style” for his wanderin’ ways, however. “So I started looking at Airstreams.”

And the rest, as we often say here on Outsider, is history. Check out Matthew McConaughey’s most recent airstream, cloaked in stunning nature, for yourself below, before we dive into his current ride.

Matthew McConaughey’s Decades o’ Streamin’

McConaughey‘s first foray into airstream campers came by way of a 2004 Airstream International CCD 28, Business Insider cites. This first streamer, which he dubbed “The Honeycomb,” was a 30-foot long living space complete with a “tiny” kitchen, bathroom, shower, bedroom, and living room.

Its round ceiling and golden coloring conjured its “Honeycomb” name for the actor. And as for McConaughey’s favorite part of his first airstream?

“It’s got a great window right above your pillow, so when you wake up in the morning, you’re looking right at the ocean or wherever your backyard is that day,” he continues in the 2008 interview.

At the time of this BI interview, Matthew McConaughey had become such a bonafide airstream fan that he told the trade he already had “two new ones” on the way, as well. But he didn’t plan on stopping there.

“One day I’ll have either an Airstream hotel or an Airstream compound. I don’t know where it’ll be yet… But the thing about Airstreams is you feel a little bad for ’em if you got ’em parked too long and the axles aren’t spinning, you know, because they’re built for the road.”

We may not have a Matthew McConaughey Airstream Hotel yet, but his latest post shows the icon is far from done with his “streamin” days. And we doubt we’ll ever see such a day come.
