Matthew McConaughey has a close relationship with his 88-year-old mom. He elaborates on it in a question from a 3-year-old girl.

McConaughey was answering some kid’s questions. A young girl named Madison asked him what is his favorite thing to do with his own mom.

Well, the “Dallas Buyers Club” actor said that his mom loves to do puzzles but admitted that it’s taking her out on hikes.

“She’s in really good shape for how old she is, so she can climb mountains,” McConaughey said. “A lot of times I have to hold her hand because of her balance, but she really likes to go on hikes.

“We go on hikes together, talk about life together, and that’s sort of the way we catch up when we go on hikes,” he said.

Take a listen to McConaughey answering this question, which is the first of a few the actor tackles from young fans.

Matthew McConaughey Not Ruling Out Life In Politics

Meanwhile, Matthew McConaughey has not ruled out the idea of running for governor in his beloved state of Texas.

The 51-year-old actor and University of Texas professor has said that while he hasn’t completely ruled out running for governor, he would consider holding “leadership roles where he could be most useful.” However, McConaughey added, “right now, I don’t see that as politics.” He also said that politics is a “broken business.”

“I don’t know. I mean, that wouldn’t be up to me. It would be up to the people more than it would me. I would say this. Look, politics seems to be a broken business to me right now. And when politics redefines its purpose, I could be a hell of a lot more interested.’

In the wake of the 2020 election, the Oscar-winning actor said that America needs to “stabilize” before moving forward, saying that both political sides are at fault.

“I want to get behind personal values to rebind our social contracts with each other as Americans, as people again. No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, we have broken those social contracts.”
