Matthew McConaughey Revealed One of His Movies Was Filmed in Just 25 Days

What movie did the hot Hollywood stud finish filming in less than a month’s time?

Matthew McConaughey has been a successful TV and film star since the 90s. He puts his all into the roles he lands, even landing him an Academy Award for Best Actor for his character in “Dallas Buyers Club.”

The film following Ron Woodroof, a rodeo cowboy and AIDS victim, who works incessantly to find a new treatment for the deadly disease in order to survive, not only cut McConaughey’s weight. It also cuts a large amount of the unnecessary filming time and budget.

“Dallas Buyers Club” Finished Filming in 25 Days

It’s hard to choose just one of the A-lister’s best movies, but the film is one that McConaughey’s receives the most acclaim for. He reveals “Dallas Buyers Club” only took 25 days to film with a budget of less than $5 million.

While speaking to the Los Angeles Times, McConaughey and the director of the movie, Jean-Marc Vallée, reveal how only one camera and no lighting was put in use during filming. This ensures the film reaches completion as soon as possible.

“No electric crew, no grid crew, and a handheld available light,” explains Vallée. “We didn’t have a lot of money, and that was the only way to do it.”

McConaughey and the Film Find Success

It’s not entirely known why the film was given such financial restrictions. The first belief is that filming will last for 40 days. However, the night before beginning the production, a change in timing takes place. There hasn’t been any explanation given by the actor or director in regards to why. The only information released is that the time frame was drastically cut.

The film went on to make close to $60 million at the box office upon its release. It also received several nominations with McConaughey winning the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the film.
