From highly serious, award-winning dramas like “Dallas Buyers Club” to wholesome romantic comedies like “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” to playing a lovable animated character on “Sing,” Matthew McConaughey can do it all.

He had played the voice of Buster Moon in the first “Sing” movie, which came out in 2016. Buster Moon is an adorable koala that wears a classic white button-down shirt, a red bow tie, and a snazzy blue suit jacket.

Matthew McConaughey ‘Sing 2’

The protagonist of the movie is perhaps one of the most optimistic characters ever in cinema. Similar to McConaughey, Buster Moon is a go-getter. He’s also incredibly fun and free-spirited.

Now, Matthew McConaughey is excitedly getting fans ready for his next stint as Buster Moon in “Sing 2.” He released a trailer for the upcoming movie with the caption, “follow the music…official trailer for #Sing2 only one way to go..like to join Buster Moon + the crew and get updates from @SingMovie until it hits theaters this Christmas,” on Twitter.

The trailer starts with the Billie Eilish song, “bury a friend” being performed by one of the characters. Eventually, a large slug even sings “Hotline Bling,” but no one really seems impressed.

Then, the original crew of the movie comes together again. They must convince a reclusive rock star named Clay Calloway to join them for the opening of a brand new show coming up. Buster Moon and his friends set off on an epic adventure.

In addition to McConaughey, the movie has a pretty star-studded cast. Stars like Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, Reese Witherspoon, Nick Kroll, Scarlett Johansson, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Eric André, Pharrell Williams, Letitia Wright, and Chelsea Peretti are all voicing characters in the movie.

The movie is coming out this Christmas.

McConaughey as a Father

The “Sing” movies are the ultimate favorite animated film for many younger kids, as well as people of any age.

As a father himself, it seems like Matthew McConaughey is pretty good at creating a character kids will love.

During an interview with Tim McGraw on his radio show “Beyond the Influence Radio,” McConaughey opened up about fatherhood. He called it the “greatest success you can be as a man.”

“For me, it was the motivation to continue, but hopefully be able to maybe evolve and improve it. It was when I was eight years old is when it hit me. I wanted to be a father. I remember what it was. My dad was a ‘sirs,’ and ‘ma’ams’ and ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ man, and he would introduce me to his friends,” McConaughey said.

He has three kids with his wife, Camila Alves McConaughey — Levi, 12, Livingston, 8, and daughter Vida, 11.

Hopefully, his kids are stocked for his new animated film too.
