Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have stepped out of the royal family limelight and into another with their new Netflix series.

Nearly seven months ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a contract with Netflix to create a new docuseries called the Heart of Invictus.

According to TV Line, “Heart of Invictus, will follow a group of extraordinary competitors from around the globe. All service members who have suffered life-changing injuries or illnesses, while on their road to the Invictus Games The Hague 2020. An international event that features nine total sports.”

Due to the pandemic, the game was postponed until 2022.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s docuseries will follow the Invictus Games organizers. They are currently preparing for the events and collaborate with each country’s team to “support their competitors.”

Prince Harry’s Close Ties With Paralympics

Why were the former royals selected for the Netflix series?

Prince Harry has a close relationship with the Paralympics Games and even starred in the hit Netflix documentary Rising Phoenix. The documentary highlights the struggles faced by athletes in the Paralympics.

Furthermore, Prince Harry is the founder of the Invictus Games and is the executive producer of the Netflix series. Heart of Invictus will also feature the Prince.

Prince Harry touches on the inspiring stories of the Invictus Games as well as the road leading to the event.

“Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination, and resolve,” said Prince Harry in a statement. “This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year. As Archewell Productions’ first series with Netflix, in partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation, I couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead or prouder of the Invictus community for continuously inspiring global healing, human potential, and continued service.”

Promoting Inspiriting in the Wake of Hate

In September of 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry commented on their contract with Netflix. The famous couple noted that they would be producing a number of different shows. They include documentaries, docuseries, feature films, scripted shows, and children’s programming. Furthermore, all of the productions will take on an “inspirational” quality.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been in the spotlight recently for their interview with Oprah Winfrey. The two opened up about their struggles since living within the palace walls. In addition, Markle shared some of the negative comments made by the royal family.
