Family is everything to so many. That is certainly true for Michael Strahan.

On Saturday (Jan. 16), he shared a special birthday greeting to a very important person in his life – his mother – via his Instagram.

“Happy birthday to my Mom, Louise Strahan,” the former football star wrote. “The strongest, funniest, and chillest mom and person I know who is only getting better with time!!! I love you more than I can show in this post, but had to try! Lol. I wish you an amazing birthday! Love your Michael! #MommaStray”

Saturday’s post had more than 6,000 likes and more than 350 comments within an hour of Strahan posting. One of the commenters was Strahan’s fellow Fox NFL Sunday football analyst Jimmy Johnson. “She taught you Chef Stray!” Johnson wrote. ABC News Network correspondent Deborah Roberts also chimed in. “Happy birthday dear Louise!” she posted.

Many of Strahan’s fans also shared birthday wishes. One wrote, “Mama Louise … You’re a lovely lady who deserves every blessing that comes your way! Wishing you shining health & many sweet times ahead spent with those u love … and flowering plants. You look like a woman who has lots of living things around you.” Others simply posted: “Happy birthday.”

Michael Strahan Enjoys Spending Time with Family

In addition to spending time with his mother, Michael Strahan spends quality time with his children. Just before Christmas, he shared a series of photos of him decorating a gingerbread house with one of them. Prior to that, he showed off the Christmas tree.

Strahan has two twin daughters – Sophia and Isabella who are both 16. His other two children are Tanita, who is 28, and Michael Jr., who is 25.

Michael Strahan and family mourned the loss of Strahan’s father in October. He said he father’s death hit him hard.

“I lost my hero and it’s still hard to believe my dad is no longer with us physically,” Strahan said. “But I know his spirit lives on thru me and the rest of the family. The biggest goal in everything I’ve ever done was to make him proud. Knowing that I did that gives me peace but also pushes me to continue because I know he’s watching from above.”
