Michigan authorities are now investigating a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning incident at the Faster Horses Music Festival. The music festival is at the Michigan International Speedway this weekend.

According to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, five men were found unresponsive inside a traveling trailer located on the music festival’s grounds. First responders immediately performed CPR. But were unable to revive three out of the five men and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two men found in the trailer are now at a local hospital in critical condition. They are being treated for acute carbon monoxide poisoning. “The caller [who reported the incident] was a friend of the five males and became concerned when he had not heard from them,” the police department confirmed. The authorities also reveal that the exposure may be due to a generator located very near the travel trailer.

Police Also Discover Woman’s Body at the Music Festival

Along with the traveling trailer incident, Michigan authorities have also discovered a 30-year old woman’s body on the festival’s grounds. According to MLive, police confirm the woman is Melissa Donna Havens.

Authorities are also seeking help to identify a male in his 30s who appears to be with Melissa prior to the incident. Anyone with any information about the incident should contact Sgt. Daniel Drewyor at 734-819-8192.

Michigan State Police states there is no reason to think music festival-goers are in any danger at this time. “Detectives want the public to know there is no danger or threats to people attending Faster Horses Music Festival.”

Faster Horses Festival Organizers Have Yet to Address the Two Incidents

Meanwhile, the Faster Horses Festival’s organizers have yet to address both incidents. MLive reports the music festival’s social media account is continuing to promote performances while dodging questions about both incidents.

In a post promoting Jason Aldean’s upcoming performance at the music festival, one Facebook user wrote, “It is sad, but not surprising that this group has no respect for the dead that happened at their festival. It certainly shows that the people running this do not value human life.”

Another Facebook user also spoke about the incidents by asking on the music festival’s page, “Will there be any acknowledgment for the three young people that have died on your grounds? Or the two other[s] in critical condition?”

One Facebook user is even accusing the music festival’s organizers of deleting comments on posts. “Ahh, you are deleting moments? Real nice – your fest-goers should know what’s going on!!!”

Those performing at this year’s Faster Horses Festival are Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Jason Aldean, and Kelsea Ballerini. The festival is three days long, from July 16th to the 18th. Alden is performing this evening, along with Dee Jay Silver and Tracy Lawrence.
