Miranda Lambert and Elle King have been a force to be reckoned with since they teamed up for their song, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” The song is about a night of drunken shenanigans. During the song, the duo sings about “gettin’ tatted” in the bathroom and “jumping off the deep ends” all in the name of getting drunk, making friends, and staying out all night.
During an interview, Elle King said that the song is based on her real-life friendship with Miranda Lambert.
“The true story of this song sums up our wild friendship,” said King. “Miranda is someone I have looked up to as a songwriter, musician, performer, and human being for a long time. So our tumbleweed snowball story of getting to know each other is the ultimate real deal kinda thing.
King added that Lambert is her ultimate motivator on stage.
“Nobody revs me up, kicks my ass on stage, or treats me more like family than Miranda Lambert,” said King.
Along with the song, Lambert and King also released a music video for “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” The video features King as a bride on her wedding day and Lambert as King’s maid of honor. The two get drunk and hilariously have the time of their lives together.
