The popular twin-city State Fair Grounds have been already started the see the hustle and bustle of the sure-to-be enormous fair crowds. Every year, the popular Twin Cities Fair is a hit. This year will be especially big since it is the first year back. After the fair was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
And, after the Fair Grounds fell silent last year; the 2021 Minnesota State Fair grandstand events will certainly bring some much-missed sound back to life at the historic Twin Cities fair.
Some of the major events coming to the stage include some very big names.
The fair is scheduled to run from August 26 until September 6. Throughout the week, fair-goers can expect to see some big names such as Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Doobie Brothers, Modern West. Even a performance by “Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner.
The Minnesota State Fair Brings Some Bigtime Acts to the Grandstand
On Thursday evening, the main event will feature longtime country music star, Miranda Lambert. The Texas native first found fame in 2003 when she took home a third-place finish on the “Nashville Star.”
The show is a reality series similar to the “American Idol” format. It aired on the USA network for some time.
Since then, Lambert has made a career as the voice of a strong independent woman. One who won’t let anyone define her.
Country music icon and superstar Tim McGraw will step onto the Minnesota State Fair nearly a week later. Earlier in his career, the 54-year-old star performed at the Minnesota State Fair six times over the years. This is a welcome return, however, since Tim McGraw will be stepping onto the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand stage for the first time in six years.
One of the most unique players for the upcoming events will be “Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner. Costner will be taking the stage with his band, Modern West. Headlining what has been described as an evening of music, a movie, and a conversation with Kevin Costner.
Kevin Costner Is Much More Than Just a Movie-Star
Kevin Costner is the iconic movie star and star of the hit modern-western television drama, “Yellowstone.”
The longtime actor will be headlining the show with his band Modern West during the September 3 Friday evening performance.
Founded by the movie star in 2007, the country-rock band is fronted by Costner. Over the years, Modern West has released four albums since the band was formed nearly fifteen years ago.
Other performances during the popular state fair’s nearly two-week-long run starting Thursday, August 26 include a wide variety of popular performers that will certainly wow the already growing crowds.
Joining these major acts at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand will be a variety of groups ranging from more country favorites such as Maren Morris; a little retro R&B sounds from performers such as TLC and Shaggy. The performances will also include some memorable performances from some classic rock stars George Thorogood and the Destroyers and the Doobie Brothers.
This August 31 performance by the Doobie Brothers will stand-in for the group’s fiftieth-anniversary celebration. This recognition is much-anticipated, since it was first put off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
