Monica Lewinsky won the internet yet again on Monday night with another one of her clever Twitter jokes.
The former White House intern made light of her infamous situation on social media Monday night, as she is one to often do.
It all started when the Twitter account Idris Elbow 💪🏽 (@YallLuvCris) posted a tweet that said, “If Twitter were around in the 90s, name a famous event/moment that definitely would’ve had the TL in shambles.”
Lewinsky responded with her own hilarious take. “Not playing,” she replied.
Monica Lewinsky, of course, was an intern at the White House when she had an affair with the then-president, Bill Clinton. The incident led to the impeachment of Clinton after he lied about it happening.
Former presidential candidate Joe Walsh even took the time to reply on his official account.
“Just perfect,” Walsh wrote. “Thanks for this tweet.
Monica Lewinsky Has Joked About the Affair Before
For those who thought the latest remark from Monica Lewinsky was good, it’s not the first time she’s made light of her infamous situation.
Back when popular comedian Sarah Cooper tweeted, “My advice to the younger generation: make your mistakes now. Because by the time you’re 40, you’ll barely even remember them! And then you get to make the same mistakes all over again [and] it’s really fun.”
In hilarious fashion, Lewinsky shared the tweet to her page saying, “uhhhmmmmmm.”
In the past, she has spoken about how she was demonized after the incident and how it humiliated her.
“I felt like every layer of my skin and my identity were ripped off of me in 1998 and 1999,” she told the Guardian in 2016. “It’s a skinning of sorts … the shame sticks to you like tar.”
But at least nowadays Monica Lewinsky can look back on everything and make a joke.
