Mike Wallace Suspended Indefinitely Over Political Post on Social Media
In a statement delivered by NASCAR, Wallace violated the racing league’s social media policies. According to the rules, “Public statement and/or communication that criticizes, ridicules, or otherwise disparages another person based upon that person’s race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, or handicapping condition.”
An hour before Wallace received an indefinite suspension, he penned a post on Facebook about speaking out regarding politics.
“You know as I fly across the United States today I’m ready various people’s political views and I have to say a famous four star Military General that I spent time with in the MidEast told me Mike let me give you some advice don’t ever get in a conversation about politics or religion unless you are really smart,” he wrote. “I said why do you say that comment His response it’s like being balanced on a single edge razor blade if you slip you will get cut!”
Wallace continued by writing: “Think about that before we all make foolish uneducated post! Moral of this story is most of use just repeat what we have heard we really don’t know. Have a great positive day!”
Calling Out Bubba Wallace
After receiving the suspension, Wallace later took aim at fellow NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace on social media. He called out the No. 43 driver for posting political content while his comments resulted in his suspension.
Wallace’s Facebook post read: “I’m a lot confused, this is ok for Bubba Wallace to say but others can’t make view points. With out getting suspended Let me spell out bottom line because his post was a little off center in the paper. These are Bubbas @BubbaWallace a few moments ago words not mine.
In conclusion, he writes: “I’m just writing them that you can see them. bubbas word now- I’m over hearing about politics out of NASCAR it when they are the same damn ones that were drooling over the fact of the BIGGEST political person being at the Daytona 500 this year. Same damn ones that love when the Trump car is on track.. bunch’s Damn Clowns🍡🙄🤬. Sounds to me that fits in section 12.8 NASCAR members actions that could result in a fine/ or indefinite suspension or termination.”
