‘NCIS’ Actor Emily Wickersham Revealed Her Celebrity Crush Who Was on Series

Unlike most of us, “NCIS” star Emily Wickersham had the chance to meet and talk to her celebrity crush on the set of the hit crime drama.

In preparation for the 300th episode of “NCIS,” Wickersham sat down with the hosts of the CBS talk show “The Talk” in 2016. Right away, the hosts revealed that Wickersham’s celebrity crush appeared as a guest star in the 300th episode.

“Yeah, I might turn really red right now,” Wickersham joked. Then she revealed that the crush was non-other than Taye Diggs.

Diggs starred as Gunnery Sergeant Aaron Davis, a Marine suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. His character and Wickersham’s “NCIS” character Ellie Bishop didn’t actually interact on screen.

“I didn’t actually get to work with him,” Wickersham admitted in the interview. “I met him in the makeup trailer and introduced myself. And I got really flustered and red and kind of ran out. But yeah, I have a big crush on that guy.”

“The Talk” hosts laughed, and one said, “There’s no way to not fall in love with that guy.” You can see the full conversation below:

Before the episode featuring Diggs premiered in 2016, “NCIS” executive producer Gary Glasberg released a statement about it. EW reports that he said, “For our 300th episode, we needed a guest actor who could proudly portray one of our nation’s wounded warriors as well as participate in a very touching musical performance. This emotionally charged role is tailor-made for Taye Diggs, and we are so thrilled and honored to have him join us.”

“NCIS” Fan Favorite Character Departs the Show

Wickersham’s Ellie Bishop played a key role on “NCIS” for eight years. She was introduced to viewers back in 2013 when Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David exited the show. Now, it’s Wickersham’s turn to exit.

Ellie Bishop started off as an NSA analyst before transferring over to the NCIS unit. Until the end of season 18, Bishop helped the team as both an analyst and special agent, combining her skills to be a super-effective NCIS member. At the end of this past season, she hung up her NCIS badge to go undercover on a long-term operation.

Wickersham said goodbye to character Ellie Bishop in a heartfelt Instagram post back in May.

“Hangin this hat and jacket up. What a great ride it’s been. This cast, this crew, are top-notch. I can’t say enough kind words about this group that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for close to 8 years now and 172 episodes later. This business is finicky and weird and consistency is a rarity. I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of a show where I got to show up and act and laugh and learn with wonderful people. A moment in time I surely won’t forget. Thank you CBS and NCIS for including me in a part of television history,” Wickersham wrote.
