What is your approach to life? For former NCIS star Emily Wickersham, it’s all about jumping in headfirst and living her best life.

Fans of NCIS know and love Wickersham, who plays the character of NSA Analyst Elanor “Ellie” Bishop on the show. Wickersham was a regular member of the cast, having played the role of Agent Bishop for the past eight years. For those out there who are not quite sure, NCIS focuses on a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Unfortunately, it was just last month that we found out NCIS will be moving forward with Emily Wickersham on the cast. Despite being one of the show’s most-tenured actresses, she said in an Instagram post that she is moving on to the next chapter in her life. And while we aren’t quite sure what that chapter holds for the NCIS alum, we can be certain about one thing: she will be diving into it headfirst.

Wickersham took to social media on Monday afternoon to share her valuable life lesson with fans and followers. In doing so, she posted a picture of her diving headfirst into a pool.

“life lesson always dive in head first 📷: @emilyknecht” Wickersham wrote in an Instagram post on her official account.

Fans Comment on Wickersham’s Most Recent Photo

It didn’t take long for fans to hype up the star actress in her latest photo. But while some were doing the hyping, other fans of the military crime series were expressing how much they will miss her on NCIS.

“Yup!! Head first and looking [fire emoji] doing it!” one fan wrote

Meanwhile, another fan ignored the awesome photo altogether so they could tell Wickersham how much they will miss her when the new season of NCIS starts.

“I will miss you in NCIS Season 19..” they commented. You’re not the only one.

Emily Wickersham Announces Her ‘NCIS’ Farewell

By now, NCIS fans have had more than a month to soak in the news that we will no longer be seeing Agent Bishop on the show. The star actress officially announced her departure in a previous Instagram post. In doing so, she thanks her cast and crew. She also thanks all of her loyal fans, for her time on the hit show.

“Hanging this hat and jacket up. What a great ride it has been,” Wickersham stated. “This cast, this crew are top-notch. I can’t say enough kind words about this group that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for close to 8 years now and 172 episodes later. This business is finicky and weird and consistency is a rarity.”

We don’t know what is in store for Emily Wickersham in the future. But there is no doubt that she cherished her time on the set of NCIS.

“I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of a show where I got to show up and act and laugh and learn with wonderful people. A moment in time I surely won’t forget.”
