Former NCIS star Pauley Perrette is one of the latest in the industry to post a tribute to her late friend, Michael K. Williams.
As NCIS fans, we all know and love Pauley Perrette for her role in the military crime series. Perrette was a part of the show for 15 years, from 2003 to 2018, where she played the role of Abby Sciuto. And even though she hasn’t been on the show for the last three years, fans of the NCIS franchise still consider her to be one of the most popular characters.
That’s why Monday’s news about the death of Michael K. Williams hit us all hard. It turns out that Pauley Perrette was very close with Williams. She even considered him a “beloved brother” in her tribute to him on social media.
“My beloved brother. I am… I love you,” Perrette said. “We were like kids when we met. In our 20’s dancing around NYC. And then our talks as ‘grown ups’. Forever and forever in my heart. I love you. #MichaelKWilliams”
NCIS fans were obviously shaken up about the news as well. Of course, we feel for Pauley Perrette and the loss of her close friend. But we also enjoyed seeing Michael K. Williams as an actor. He is known for his role in The Wire where he played Omar Little. He was just 54 years old at the time of his death.
“So so sad. I loved him as Omar in The Wire,” one person replied to Perrette. “Thoughts are with you, his friends, and family.”
“I’m so sorry to hear that,” another fan commented. Be strong Pauley, we will keep supporting you as much as we can. You’re so beautiful together, we will never forget him.”
‘NCIS’ Star the Latest to Issue a Statement on Death of Michael K. Williams
It doesn’t take long for news about a celebrity death to make its rounds online. And that has been the case yet again here with Michael K. Williams.
As a matter of fact, NCIS actress Pauley Perrette was just one of many to put out an emotional statement following his passing. After he became a regular on HBO shows like The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, The Night Of, and Lovecraft Country, it was only fitting that the network issue a statement.
“We are devastated to learn of the passing of Michael Kenneth Williams, a member of the HBO family for more than 20 years,” HBO said after the news of Williams’ death. “While the world is aware of his immense talents as an artist, we knew Michael as a dear friend who was beloved by all who had the privilege to work with him. We send our deepest condolences to his family for this immeasurable loss.”
