So soon after we heard that “NCIS: Hawai’i” was getting its production underway, fans have reason to believe that the original “NCIS” is mere days away from rolling tape. And as exciting as it is for fans of the franchise to hear that a completely new offering is on its way, Jimmy Palmer actor Brian Dietzen hinted at getting back to work himself in a recent Instagram post.

That can only mean one of many things. But if history is any indication, then it means that “NCIS” is getting ready to start filming once again. Except for 2020, the show generally gets back to work in July each year and the season is ready to go come fall.

“Man, I miss my Colorado. Good for the soul. Alas, the city of angels calls once again. Work starts up next week! Stay tuned… ;)” the caption read.

The Brian Dietzen fans of Instagram came out in full force to offer their words of support.

“Beautiful country! So excited for the new season of NCIS. We have been fans since day 1!” one wrote.

“Dr. Palmer is definitely my favorite character! You play him well, Brian! I just watched the episode where you talked the kid off the roof. It really hit me. ‘If you’re going through hell, keep going.’ ‘Opt for happiness,'” another added.

“Great news. Wonder what’s going to happen in season 19,” an eager fan continued.

A Very Different Looking ‘NCIS’ Will Inhabit TV Screens This Year

That isn’t necessarily a good thing or a bad thing. Not yet, at least. Of course, the fact that longtime fan-favorite Mark Harmon looks to be on the way out with his Leroy Gibbs character is the most welcome of news.

To add insult to injury, Ellie Bishop actress Emily Wickersham and Jack Sloane, played by my Maria Bello, also felt that it was time to bring their “NCIS” times to an end.

Fortunately, the addition of two new cast members in Gary Cole and Katrina Law will help to make up for some of that lost Harmon time.

“We haven’t shot a single frame quite yet, but with the addition of Gary Cole and Katrina Law to the cast, this is already shaping up to be one of the best seasons yet. Going into season 19, we are excited to have new characters and stories to tell that adds to and reenergizes the world we’ve come to love over the 400+ episodes,” Steven Binder, the executive producer of ‘NCIS’ said in a June statement.

Now, if Brian Dietzen is referring to “NCIS” in his Instagram post, then people have plenty of reason to be excited. And the first frame will be shot next week.
