The day just got a whole lot better for fans of the “NCIS” franchise. Recently, the show announced via Instagram when viewers could tune in to watch the newest series: “NCIS: Hawai’i.”

“Watch NCIS: Hawai’i on Monday at 10/9c. Stay tuned for the date,” the post read in the caption. In the comment section, fans of the franchise couldn’t help but reveal their excitement.

“Ooh I can’t wait to watch this,” one user wrote while someone else asked, “What’s the date this October?”

Although the network has yet to announce a premiere date, it’s a safe bet millions of fans will be tuning in. Yet, the series premiere is bittersweet as fans say goodbye to “NCIS: New Orleans.”

“NCIS Hawai’i” will be the third series from the original CBS drama to be made, following a new team of investigators stationed in Hawaii. In April, CBS confirmed the rumors that the popular crime drama would follow a new cast in the Aloha state.

Later, the show made headlines yet again when it announced that Vanessa Lachey would take on the role of lead agent, playing Agent Jane Tennant. The move was a historic moment for the series, considering the show has never had a female lead.

Fans Are Still Waiting For The Premiere Date For ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’

Viewers know her best for working as a New York-based correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and hosting MTV’s “Total Request Live.”

After the news broke, Lachey took to Instagram to express her gratitude. “Honored is an understatement! To join the NCIS franchise as the first female lead and to do it on the Beautiful Islands of Hawai’i… I still can’t believe it!” She added, “Thank You CBS for believing in me! Now let’s get to work!”

In the wake of the announcement, the network has also confirmed other actors for the show. Yasmine Al-Bustami will be joining as Agent Lucy, who is a junior member of the team. Jason Antoon will also be joining the team as a character called Ernie.

Much like the fellow “NCIS” series, “NCIS: Hawai’i” will follow a team of agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service who investigate crimes involving the Navy and the Marines.

Yet, it will be a brand new landscape for both the cast and the characters. Without a city backdrop, the new series will follow the cast on the beautiful island, making this series totally unique to the others.
