“NCIS: New Orleans” has left the building and “NCIS: Hawai’i” will be coming in hot this upcoming TV season.

“NCIS: Hawai’i” is breaking ground. It’s the first “NCIS” spin-off that has the first female Special Agent in charge of the Pearl Harbor base. Jane Tennant is the leader of the new crew, played by Vanessa Lachey.

“She and her team balance duty to family and country, investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security, and the mysteries of the island itself. This NCIS: Hawai’i team is a skilled mix of mainland transplants who’ve re-located to the tranquility of the Pacific and wizened locals who know their mahalo from kapu,” according to the official summary on the CBS site.

The new series will start on September 20, accompanied by other “NCIS” shows on CBS. Since announcing the creation of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” the actors and creators behind the program have been sharing insider information and behind-the-scenes photos. Whether it’s Lachey in her official “NCIS” outfit or a look at a traditional Hawaiian blessing, all of it has helped get fans on board for the upcoming drama.

Behind the Scenes of ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’

Now, the director of the first few episodes of the show, Larry Teng, shared an epic “NCIS: Hawai’i” action scene. He captioned the video, “Police raid Tuesday’s on @ncishawaiicbs … Shout out to our fabulous stunt team, @davidwillno and @paullacovara as well as @jonesydop and his killer camera crew.”

The video features a massive police truck bashing through a warehouse door. Suddenly, a police squad rushes to apprehend those in the building. It seems like a promise that the new spin-off will include all the drama and action known to the franchise.

Larry Teng has worked on several TV shows before “NCIS: Hawai’i” including “Nancy Drew,” “Supergirl,” “Animal Kingdom,” “Graceland,” and “Medium.”

“NCIS: Hawai’i” has reportedly wrapped up the first two episodes. Teng shared another photo on set with the actors. He wrote, “After 22 days of filming, I can officially say that the pilot and episode 102 for @ncishawaiicbs is wrapped. I feel so lucky to collaborate with this amazing cast, this amazing group of producers, and more than anything, this amazing crew. They have held me up, worked long hours, and devoted their time, sweat, and talents for this maiden voyage. It’s been an unforgettable experience. Mahalo for allowing me to be apart of this incredible ohana.”

The photo features some of the big faces in the “NCIS: Hawai’i” cast. It includes Vanessa Lachey, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Noah Mills, and Kian Talan.

There are about two months left until the show will officially air on CBS. All the behind-the-scenes smiles will finally become a reality.
