This fall is amping up to be a major event for “NCIS” fans across the board. CBS promises the much-anticipated premiere of “NCIS” season 19 and “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 13. However, this fall also hosts an all-new spin-off of the franchise, “NCIS: Hawai’i.” In preparation for the new show and seasons, fans were incredibly cautious about watching the first look clip featuring actress Vanessa Lachey as Special Agent in Charge for “NCIS: Hawai’i” Jane Tennant.
“NCIS” franchise fans have become accustomed to the strong male lead throughout the previous three installments of the show. However, it’s the first time “NCIS” will feature a prominent female lead in the role of Special Agent in Charge. Nevertheless, fans are hesitant as Special Agent Tennant “Has A LOT to live up to,” according to one “NCIS” fan.
The show overall will definitely head in a different direction. This is especially true in comparison to the original team NCIS. Just a few differences include environmental climate in addition to Tennant’s youth (especially compared to the all-wise Gibbs). Additionally, wardrobe appears a bit different based on Tennant’s petal pink camouflage jacket in the “NCIS: Hawai’i” exclusive first look.
According to Express, the new Hawaii-based team will work out of Pearl Harbor, whose location and agents have previously featured on the “NCIS” original. The outlet stated that fans certainly became attached to the long-reigning Special Agents in Charge across the franchise’s other installments. Although, many are willing to give Tennant and her team a chance.
In response to the clip on Lachey’s Twitter, followers commented, “This new chapter of NCIS has a lot to live up to.”
Another said, “I’m willing to give Agent Tennant and her team a fair shake to see what they can do.”
Others were simply happy to see the actress/character shattering glass ceilings with a forerunning female lead.
‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star Vanessa Lachey is Passionate About Horseback Riding
While we prepare for the all-new spin-off, “NCIS: Hawai’i,” the new series star spends her free time horseback riding. Recently, she shared a photo of her on horseback embracing her inner “Hawaiian cowgirl.” She simply captioned the post as such, followed by the #paniolo, which means “cowboy” or “cowgirl” in Hawaiian.
Lachey appears to enjoy horseback riding off-screen. Although she previously shared a photo of herself riding English style on a Western-oriented horse. “Training for the next episode!” she shared with fans.
Additionally, “NCIS” followers have rarely, if ever, seen Leroy Jethro Gibbs atop a horse on a mission, Lachey’s post already promises a unique and fun spin on the new “NCIS: Hawai’i” installment. And those of us who still carry a little bit of that inner “horse girl (or guy)” hope to see multiple features of these beautifully hooved creatures in the new spinoff.
