‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star Vanessa Lachey Announces She’ll Be Presenting at the Emmy’s

“NCIS: Hawai’i” star Vanessa Lachey just landed another CBS gig this weekend. She’ll be presenting at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 19.

The show’s official Instagram account posted a video of the announcement earlier today. In the video, Lachey says, “Hi, it’s Vanessa Lachey from ‘NCIS: Hawai’i,’ and I am so excited to announce that I will be presenting at the Emmy’s this Sunday on CBS.”

In the post’s caption, the show hypes up the actress’s role in the upcoming awards show. “Fantastic news. #NCISHawaii’s @VanessaLachey will make a special appearance at the 73rd #Emmys LIVE Sunday, Sept. 19 at 8 PM, ET/5 PM, PT on @cbstv and @ParamountPlus.”

Lachey won’t be the only familiar face presenting on Sunday. Wilmer Valderrama from the original “NCIS” show will also make an appearance, as will CBS’s Stephen Colbert. The network announced all three individuals in a separate tweet.

Aside from our CBS faves, viewers can also expect to see the cast of “Schitt’s Creek” as presenters, including Dan and Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, and Annie Murphy. We’ll also see stars like Angela Bassett, Kate Beckinsale, Adrien Brody, and Jennifer Coolidge on stage. Variety reported more appearances from Kaley Cuoco, Lane Factor, Beanie Feldstein, Allyson Felix, America Ferrera, Sterlin Harjo, Devery Jacobs, Ken Jeong, and Mindy Kaling.

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star Vanessa Lachey Talks Moving Whole Family to Hawai’i

In order to properly film for “NCIS: Hawai’i,’ Vanessa Lachey and her husband Nick made the decision to move the whole family out to the islands. The actress talked with Entertainment Tonight about Nick’s early hesitations.

“It was a talk that I had with my husband and I said, ‘What do you think?’ and…he’s like, ‘Hawaii, umm, it could be worse.’ And he was like, ‘This is awesome!’” Vanessa said. “And I’ll never forget him saying, ‘This is your time and you’ve been there in the past for me.’”

But Nick’s just as active in the entertainment business as Vanessa is. And the two of them have three elementary-school-aged kids to raise too. Camden is eight, Phoenix is four, and their daughter Brooklyn is six.

“We definitely do try 50/50,” the “NCIS” star revealed. “When he’s on tour, I try to be home. When I’m shooting something, he tries to be home.”

She continued, “So this is working. This is a thing that would take our whole family out of the mainland and bring them very far away, and he was on board to support me.”

Luckily for them, the kids were totally on board. “I told the kids and they were gung ho because they think that Hawaii is water slides, play. I ask them all the time, ‘Are you happy or no?’ And they’re like, yeah! So they’re very happy here, they love it here. They’re island babies. I didn’t even realize I had island babies until I brought them here.”
