NCIS: Hawai’i star Vanessa Lachey just posted a wonderful photo of her family with a great father’s day message. The NCIS spinoff will air on CBS this fall. Lachey has made NCIS history as the first female lead cast in the franchise.

She’ll play a family-oriented woman on the show, and it’s clear that she can draw some inspiration from home. Her adorable Father’s Day post showed nothing but love for her husband, Nick Lachey.

“There are SOOO many things I Love about you, but being their Daddy is my favorite! Thank you for always putting us first and making so many sacrifices for our family. I will never be worried about their moral foundation because they have your influence daily. We Love You!”

Fans were quick to wish Nick Lachey a happy fathers day. It’s likely Vanessa’s well wishes also had to be virtual this year. Production for NCIS: Hawai’i is already underway.

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ In Production

The upcoming crime drama’s twitter recently posted one of the first ever cast photos with a special announcement.

“Aloha! Production has officially started on #NCISHawaii. See you this fall on @CBSand @ParamountPlus.”

To pay respects to the Island and its rich culture, the cast and crew participated in a traditional Hawaiian blessing on June 16th. Kahu Ramsay Taum officiated the traditional ceremony. Stars Vanessa Lachey, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Jason Antoon, Noah Mills, and Tori Anderson all participated.

NCIS: Hawai’i will center around Jane Tennant (Lachey) and her team of investigators. While Lachey is the first woman to star in an NCIS series, Tennant is the first female special agent in charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor. Tennant is not only a special agent but a single Mother who is very devoted to her family. Lachey described her in a recent CBS teaser for the show.

“I’m excited to bring a different layer to this role and hopefully inspire this next generation of young girls and women,” she said. “My character Jane Tennant is the special agent in charge of NCIS. She’s a mother of a 15-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, and that is real life: juggling life, and love, and work.”

With “NCIS” attached to its title, NCIS: Hawai’i is set up for success. NCIS first found success with its flagship show, which has been on TV for almost two decades. Season 19 will premiere this fall. NCIS remains one of the highest-rated dramas around. NCIS: Los Angeles is also doing very well. Its season 13 renewal was announced alongside NCIS: Hawai’i.

Hopefully, we’ll get more fun updates from the cast as they start to film. When that happens, Outsider will keep you updated.
