Nick Lachey ‘Dropped Everything’ For Vanessa to Take Role

When the call came in that Vanessa was wanted for the role of Jane Tennant, husband Nick stopped all he was doing. The former 98 Degrees singer also has a career in TV and film. The NCIS: Hawai’i star was presented with the role and the family was quick to jump on the opportunity. Nick left his full-time entertainment job in order to become a stay-at-home dad and husband.

The change has been good for Lachey. I got it more and more in the past 15 years now; Nick and I have been together ten years married,” Lachey explained. “I am finally at this place where I am solid and comfortable to open up and say it is really empowering.”

Her role as Special Agent Tennant on NCIS: Hawai’i has been groundbreaking. Fans and viewers have enjoyed the new show. While there are some holdouts, this one might have legs to last. So, look forward to more Vanessa Lachey.

‘NCIS: Hawai’i’: Vanessa Lachey Asked Nick if He Wanted Role

While Nick is a stay-at-home dad, Vanessa asked if he wanted a spot on the show. Fans of NCIS: Hawai’i have likely noticed that Joe Milius, Tennant’s love interest, looks an awful lot like her real-life husband. That isn’t necessarily by accident. However, while Lachey understands the dynamic between her character and Milius on the show, she wanted her husband to take the role.

She really did approach her husband about taking the role. Despite that, Nick didn’t want the role to begin with. Apparently acting on-screen gives him anxiety. He said simply, “I don’t know how to be anyone but me.” That was fine by Vanessa. She didn’t push the issue much and accepted that he wanted to do something else.
