The two tied the knot on July 15, 2011, in a gorgeous island wedding. Vanessa and Nick now have three kids together, Camden, Brooklyn, and Phoenix.
While most people might have expected the “NCIS” star and her husband to have taken an extravagant honeymoon, that’s not quite the case. Vanessa recently took to Instagram for a “flashback Friday” to share a stunning photo of her and Nick from their brief honeymoon days.
Vanessa Lachey Remembers Her ‘Favorite Trip’ With Husband Nick
In the photo, Nick holds Vanessa in his arms, “bridal style.” We can only see their backs, but they’re silhouetted by the sun setting over the ocean. Moody clouds partially cover the sun, creating a super romantic atmosphere.
“Nick was shooting a show in LA and we had to get back home right after our wedding. We only had a few days, so we said we were going to skip our honeymoon and take one later down the road,” the “NCIS” star explains in her post.
“Well life happened (in all the best ways). We got pregnant, I booked a show, he booked a tour and we would have never been able to take our honeymoon,” Vanessa continued.
The Lacheys’ son Camden was born Sept. 12, 2012, just a year after they got married. And after a 10-year hiatus, Nick’s boy band 98 Degrees had just gotten back together and started going on tour.
“So looking back now, I’m glad we took these couple of days, after the wedding, to just ‘be together… married’ and soak it all in, because… life happens,” the “NCIS” star said. “So make sure you take time to make the moments matter. Even if they are quick, the memories will last a lifetime. This was one of our favorite trips together and we will never forget it.”
