‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Star Vanessa Lachey Says ‘Meet Jane Tennant’ in New Behind the Scenes Pic

Fans are getting a sneak peek of the very first female special agent in the “NCIS” universe, which will appear in “NCIS: Hawai’i.”

Vanessa Lachey is playing the role of Special Agent Jane Tennant, the agent responsible for NCIS Pearl Harbor. Or, as the show describes her, “A woman in a male-dominated profession, she’s thrived in a system that’s pushed back every step of the way through equal parts confidence and strategy.”

“NCIS: Hawai’i” is currently in the filming process. It’s set to premiere to fans in the fall. It will air on Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET right after the 19th season of “NCIS.”

A Look at Special Agent Jane Tennant

Vanessa Lachey is giving us a good idea of what we may be seeing on screen — from Special Agent Jane Tennant’s uniform to the backdrop where all the action will go down on “NCIS: Hawai’i.” She captioned the photo, “Meet Jane Tennant & the man behind the lens @tengstagram. Top to bottom this cast and crew are exceptional! The Aloha spirit is taking us over and I can’t WAIT for you guys to see this show! I wish I can Thank EVERY person (and I will get to them over time), but first, I want to give a shout out to THIS guy! (And his diesel arms!) Thank You LT for believing in me day 1 and for bringing this character to life! I trust You, I appreciate You, I Love You. Ohana for life!”

Larry Teng is the director and the executive producer of the opening episode of “NCIS: Hawai’i” and will help bring all the action to life. He’s gotten experience working for other shows like “Nancy Drew,” “Supergirl,” and “Medium.”

He also recently posted a video of the new “NCIS: Hawai’i” headquarters being unveiled. He wrote, “Today we unveil #NCISHI headquarters for the first time. Months of design and construction went into this almost million dollar set. Grateful for our art, construction, paint, and set dec crews. Welcome NCIS ohana to your new hale.”

From the looks of it, the new “NCIS: Hawai’i” headquarters is a sleek two-story, open-concept room. It has shiny wood floors and desks for future agents to sit at and investigate.

Cast Starts Production of ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’

Vanessa Lachey also has a pretty stellar cast that joined her on Oahu to begin production. Yasmine Al-Bustami will play Lucy, a junior member of Jane Tennant’s team. Jason Antoon will portray Ernie, the Cyber Intelligence Specialist. Noah Mills is joining “NCIS: Hawai’i” as a homicide detective named Jesse. Kian Talan will play Tennant’s teenage son and Tori Anderson will play Kate Whistler, an agent for the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Last week the cast and crew all got together to celebrate their journey beginning to film the show. It was all kicked off with a traditional Hawaiian blessing as well.

“I feel the blessing ceremony, it’s a sense of gratitude, and I think it’s great to start that and it centers the moral code for the whole show,” Tori Anderson said. Fans got a sneak peek at the islands and the blessing during a promotional video for the show.
