LL Cool J isn’t okay with just being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The music icon is making a special donation to the Hall. It’s his 1987 Audi 5000, one of the first big purchases he made after signing to Def Jam.

Over the years, the rapper turned actor has defined coolness. It’s right there in his name. However, back in 87, he really was THE definition of the word. Standing on top of his Audi and wearing a black and red ensemble, the rapper posed for his album Bigger And Deffer AKA BAD. TMZ had the news about the donation.

Coming out of Queens, LL Cool J was and is a New York dude. While the Audi was not in great shape this time last year, the restoration has been amazing. The car, almost 35 years old, had seen better days. It sat at the rapper’s grandmother’s house for many years. Unique Rides in NYC hooked up with the artist and got this car looking its very best again.

There wasn’t much that wasn’t done to this car. After sitting for so long, there was an uphill battle ahead. It received new bodywork, paint, a new leather interior with red trim, a sound system complete with cassette deck, red lights, and new wheels. Oh, and a full rebuild of the engine. So, needless to say, this is basically a new car.

When it was all said and done, LL Cool J paid 35k to have his car rebuilt. Then he promptly donated it to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame where it will be preserved for years to come. The NCIS: Los Angeles star continues to keep, “doin’ it big,” even 30 years after the fact.

LL Cool J Rocks the Stage with Eminem

When you get inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a performance is usually close to follow. LL Cool J took the stage at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse Arena in Cleveland. On stage, he was joined by Eminem for a very special performance. Since then, the artist has shared how much that performance meant.

Over on his Instagram page, LL had a collection of photos together for a post. After his induction, the artist went into a series of his best songs. Not only did fellow rapper Eminem join him, Jennifer Lopez did as well. Not to mention, Dr. Dre presented the artist with The Musical Excellence Award. At the end of the set, LL played his ultimate classic, Mama Said Knock You Out.

The rapper-actor has had quite an entertainment career. On NCIS: Los Angeles he has established himself and been with the show for 13 seasons now. However, LL Cool J proved that he can still hit the stage and put on a knockout performance whenever he feels like it.
