NCIS: Los Angeles was the first spinoff of the long-running hit series NCIS. The spinoff follows a group of agents in the LA area. They face many of the same kinds of issues as the other series. At the same time, fans love it almost as much as the original. In fact, it has been a hit with audiences since the very first episode. That episode hit the airwaves back in September of 2009.

Right now, they are working on the thirteenth season of the show. That season will start airing in October. For many fans, the wait is almost too long. Luckily, Eric Christian Olsen is there to help fill them in on what to expect.

We’re not sure if it’s a quick fix to hold us over until the new season airs or if it makes the wait seem that much longer. Either way, we know what to expect from the opening scene of the first episode of the next season of NCIS: Los Angeles. At the very least it’s something to look forward to.

What do we have to look forward to in the upcoming season of NCIS: Los Angeles? Chaos and a shirtless Deeks. That’s what. Olsen and one of the showrunners had more details in a behind-the-scenes video from the set.

What to Expect from the Opening Scene of NCIS: Los Angeles Season 13

The official NCIS: Los Angeles Twitter account posted the behind-the-scenes video. In that video, Eric Christian Olsen, sporting a mask, chats with one of the showrunners about the opening scene of the premiere episode.

“We’re here in visual effects,” Olsen said before asking the showrunner to, “Tell us more about your first scene.”

The NCIS: Los Angeles coordinator said, “Oh my god! You’re going to love it, but I can’t say.” He could throw out a few details, though. “It’s going to be stormy. A dark and stormy night.”

Olsen, like the rest of us, said that he was “Already here for,” the dark and stormy night. It got better, though. Olsen asked, “Then what?”

The other masked man in the video said that “There’s chaos,” and “Things explode.”

Then, the NCIS: Los Angeles star chimed in, saying, “Deeks comes in shirtless. Tell us more!”

However, that’s all the information we could get. The answer to his appeal for more information was, “And then, we go to the title sequence.”

Chaos, explosions, and storms sound like a great way to kick off the next season of NCIS: Los Angeles. At the same time, more than a few fans will be happy to hear that Olsen will be shirtless for the opening scene.

We’ll just have to wait until October 10th to see how the rest of the chaotic scene plays out.
