We said goodbye to two longtime cast members, Barrett Foa and Renée Felice Smith, during the season finale of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” but it looks like everyone else will return for Season 13. Here’s where we left the cast in the finale, and here’s what might be next for them.

Callen was in a good place at the end of the season 12 finale. And it looks like kids might come next. Especially since he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend, Anna, this season. In addition to a proposal, we can’t help but wonder what his role with the team might be. Hetty’s temporary replacement will be leaving, and the operations manager’s future is now yet to be determined.

In the finale, Sam was a proud dad as he watched his son’s flight test. Plus, he seemed to be in a good place with his girlfriend. However, fans are unsure if he’ll get married in the future. Fans theorize that we’ll see him training younger agents in the upcoming season.

Season 13 of ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’: What Might Be in Store

By the end of the episode, Kensi received a cryptic postcard from the serial killer David Kessler, who has some dark plans in store for her. Fans think that the Kessler storyline will take an ominous turn at some point in Season 13.

As for Deeks, there is quite a bit of fun that he could have with Kirkin’s businesses, though we suspect it won’t appear that often. Although he may have left the LAPD, we can’t help but hope Season 13 is when we’ll get the “Deeks, M.” episode.

During Season 12, fans saw Hetty primarily via video. However, she returned in the finale to say goodbye to Nell and stop Kilbride from boxing up her belongings. As for what’s next for Hetty, we have a feeling we won’t be seeing her taking on her duties as operations manager, at least not in the same way as she has in the past.

We learned more about Fatima in season 12, and now we have a feeling we might see her more in Ops than in the field, at least at the beginning of Season 13.

As the “NCIS” new guy, Roundtree had been learning and fitting in quite nicely with the team. In season 13, if Sam starts training young agents, perhaps Roundtree will no longer be the newbie.
