NCIS: Los Angeles alumni Renee Felice Smith just posted a fun video of herself riding a motor scooter around town. The actress played Nell on the show until leaving this year. On the season finale, Nell and Eric left the team to pursue a new life in Tokyo. Now, Smith is following a similar path as her character did, pursuing something new creatively and leaving the old behind.
The fun video, which shows off Smith cruising down the street, was posted yesterday. The caption aptly said “scoot scoot.”
Scootering around isn’t the only thing she’s been up to by a long shot. First, the actress, director, and writer recently published a book called Hugo and The Impossible Thing. It’s a children’s book about a dog who beats impossible odds, inspired by her own dog’s struggle with cancer.
And while it’s sad to see her go from NCIS: Los Angeles, it’s also clear that she’s been ready to leave. Not only is she a published author now, but she’s also working on an indie film.
“I think that I’ve been ready for my next chapter for a while now, in whatever form it will take. But it’s surely to be centered around storytelling. I hesitate to be part of the ‘cliché actress’ calling herself a storyteller, but I really am one. I’m a writer. I’m a director,” Smith told TV Line following her exit from the show.
Smith has also been taking some time for herself, posting some fun photos from her family vacation, including a picture with her sister, who recently choreographed for pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo.
Filming for ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Has Officially Begun
NCIS: Los Angeles season 13 is officially in production, with Deeks actor Eric Christian Olsen and others officially returning to set.
Eric Olsen seems particularly excited for this season.
“You’re going to love it but I can’t say. It’s going to be a dark and storming night,” he said of the season premiere in a clip on the show’s Twitter page. “There’s chaos and things explode.”
He also said that “Deeks comes in shirtless. I mean it doesn’t get better than that. Season 13 baby, we doing it.”
For fans worried that they’ll miss out on their favorite characters this year with Nell and Eric gone and Hetty gone last year, there’s good news. Hetty actress Linda Hunt will return for season 13. While it’s hard to see the two characters go, the returning cast should definitely provide enough entertainment to keep fans hooked.
NCIS: Los Angeles will premiere on Sunday, October 10th at 9 pm et. The show will premiere on Sunday nights just as usual. NCIS, however, has moved to a Monday timeslot to serve as a lead-in to NCIS: Hawai’i.
