On Thursday, NCIS: Los Angeles alum Renée Felice Smith shared a cute poolside photo of two of her dogs with her 170,000 Instagram followers.

Fans of Smith are used to seeing her pups often since she frequently posts about them. The actress actually has three dogs, but only two were outside for the recent photo op in her backyard. One is an enormous Bull Mastiff named Velma while the other in the pic is a little rescue mutt named Alfie. In fact, Alfie is so small compared to Velma that he can easily walk underneath and through her legs.

Velma and Alfie got outside and enjoyed a nice day in the sun recently in Smith’s backyard near her pool. However, the NCIS actress’ other dog, an English Mastiff named Mabel, wasn’t too interested in the heat that day. Evidently, Mabel prefers Smith’s air-conditioned home more so than soaking up some sun outside.

“rrruuuuff life these two,” the NCIS star wrote on Instagram.

‘NCIS’ Star Posts Amusing Photo of Her Dog Alfie

Just a few days ago, Renée Felice Smith posted another cute photo of her small rescue dog Alfie. In addition, she added a funny caption explaining how people mistakenly think Alfie is much older than he is.

Alfie is an adorable little “scruff-bucket” as the NCIS star called him in another recent Instagram post. He’s the newest addition to her pack of dogs, which include the two much larger mastiffs. Smith shared a hilarious caption about Alfie along with a great photo of him. She admitted that people often think he’s a much older dog because of his scruffy look. Yet the little pup is only seven months old, so people couldn’t be much more wrong about his age. Her caption read:

“oh, he’s an old boy, huh?”
“actually, he’s seven months”

Renée Speaks Out About Her Departure From Hit CBS Series

A couple months ago, Renée Felice Smith‘s time on the hit CBS series NCIS: Los Angeles came to an end. Her role of Nell Jones was written off the show when she reportedly joined her partner, Erie Beale, in Japan to focus on his tech venture in Tokyo.

She recently spoke with TV Line about the crime drama series and the future of her career.

“Well, I think it’s complicated. I mean, I think that I’ve been ready for my next chapter for a while now, in whatever form it will take,” Smith explained. “But it’s surely to be centered around storytelling.”

Smith also revealed how she felt about Nell’s storyline and how it played out in Season 7.

“I absolutely loved Nell’s journey this season,” she said. “She really got to stand in her power. She really found her voice, and as a young woman it was empowering to play that side of the scene.”

“Nell, I think, is a natural leader, and I really do think her strength as a leader is her vulnerability. I think that Nell has empathy for all players involved in the story. She can see multiple sides of the story. She’s a person that’s not only intelligent but she has emotional intelligence, and that has been such a gift for me as an actor to play,” she added.

NCIS: Los Angeles will return for its 8th season later this year when it premieres this fall.
