For over a decade, viewers have seen Chris O’Donnell portray Callen on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” but did you know his kids have had several cameos on the hit show?
Since its inception in 2009, O’Donnell has been part of the popular CBS crime drama. If you watch the show, you know that his character didn’t have the easiest childhood. Yet, after getting support from the NCIS Operations Manager, Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt), he became one of the crew’s top agents. Now, it seems like his children are following in their dad’s footsteps. If you didn’t know, O’Donnell and his wife Caroline have five children in total, and four of them have appeared on “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
Chris O’Donnell’s Children & Their Roles on ‘NCIS’
As NCIS fans will recall, when Callen was a child, he spent his childhood in Romania with his mom, Clara, and his sister Amy Callen — played by none other than one of his daughters, Lily O’Donnell.
However, their grandfather in the show had killed a member of the Comescu family. So, as a result, the Comescu family took revenge and swore to end the Callen line.
Later on, the assassins killed their mom on a beach while one of them distracted a young Callen. Luckily, he and his sister fled to America and ended up in the foster care system. Sadly, the system separated them.
As the show goes on, eventually, Amy Callen shows up. At first, it appeared to be Amy, it actually wasn’t his sister. As fans find out, it was a childhood friend of Amy’s named Hannah Lawson.
After his sister accidentally drowned, Lawson took Amy’s name and was buried under Hannah’s name. When Hannah tells Callen what happened, “NCIS” shows flashback moments of how Amy died. The young girl playing Amy in the flashback scenes is Lily, O’Donnell’s real-life daughter. As of now, this has been her only acting role to date, per her IMDb.

Additionally, Lily isn’t the only O’Donnell child to have had a role in “NCIS.” Lily’s brother, Charlie, played a younger version of his father. Later on, Charlie made another cameo, portraying Michael Donnelly.
Moreover, his youngest daughter, Maeve, appeared in 2015. She had a role in the episode titled “Command and Control.” Later on, his other son made his acting debut in 2011. He played a young Callen in “Tin Soldiers” and “Lange, H.”
When Maeve had her role in “NCIS,” her father told Entertainment Tonight that “She [Maeve] had one little line and she would rehearse it at home.” He added that although “she was a little nervous when she got there, but then she arrived at my trailer, and they put a big star with her name on the board.”
Although his other son, Christopher, hasn’t had a role in “NCIS” yet, we have a feeling we’ll see him soon.
