NCIS: Los Angeles star Bar Paly is giving her fans a history lesson.

Want to see what the ancient Olympic stadium looked like? She’s got a photo. And hint, she’s a long way away from the NCIS: Los Angeles set.

Paly wrote: “Olympia, the birthplace of the #Olympic Games dating back to 776 BC. This is the FIRST Olympic stadium & the famous archway, that served as the entrance.”

NCIS: Los Angeles Recently Started Production for Lucky Season No. 13

NCIS: Los Angeles recently started production for season 13. It premieres, Oct. 10. That’s a Sunday, it’s normal night.

CBS is taking a chance with NCIS, the OG of the franchise. The show cemented itself in the Tuesday night TV infrastructure for 18 spectacular seasons. But this fall, NCIS moves to Monday nights opposite Monday Night Football. But CBS is hoping it’ll be a good lead-in to new franchise NCIS: Hawai’i, which stars Vanessa Lachey.

Bar Paly’s role on NCIS: Los Angeles is a recurring one, but still important to the show. She was born in Russia, but raised in Israel. She’s now an American citizen. On NCIS: Los Angeles, she plays Anna Kolcheck, who is Russian. Anna is the daughter of fan-favorite Arkady Kolcheck.

And she’s also the on-again/off-again love interest of Callen, played by Chris O’Donnell.

As Anna, Paly has appeared in 25 episodes. Her last appearance in season 12 was the episode called The Noble Maidens.

Show May Explore More of Callen’s Russian Backstory

NCIS: Los Angeles showrunners indicated that season 13 will explore more of Callen’s Russian backstory. So maybe that means more scenes between Anna and Callen.

Paly described her NCIS: Los Angeles character in a recent interview with Parade. Keep in mind, she’s a freelance agent on the show.

“I’m really connected to that aspect of her that is extremely loyal to the people she loves, and it’s a very small group of people,” Paly said. “I don’t think she has a lot of friends. She’s very guarded. Again, like I mentioned before, it comes from a place of, if you care for somebody, that’s going to be her weakness. Somebody can use that against her, so I think that’s why she’s guarded. This loyalty in her to those people is something I understand and relate to.”

O’Donnell also talked about his character’s relationship with Anna, in an interview with TVInsider. It’s complicated, he says. But the two are a natural fit because they can be honest with each other because of what they do for a living.

“It’s been hard enough for Callen to get himself to the point where he is ready to take the next step in life,” O’Donnell said of his NCIS: Los Angeles character. “He’s clearly in love with Anna and feels the time is right Unfortunately, the carpet has been pulled out from under him. He’s discovering he might not know the real Anna or [be able to] trust her,” O’Donnell says. Still, “he has to put these questions aside and take care of the business at hand.”
