NCIS: Los Angeles star Eric Christian Olsen seriously looks up to his fellow co-stars. Olsen stars in NCIS: Los Angeles alongside a ton of great actors, but he looks at Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J like Older brothers.
Chris O’Donnell, who plays G. Callen, has starred alongside Sam Hannah actor and music legend LL Cool J since the start. Olsen was only supposed to have a small role in season 1 but was so loved that he came back as a regular.
The Deeks actor explained his friendships with LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnel in a 2013 talk at the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo. He explained that working ten months out of the year for 60-70 hours a week really does make cast members like a “family.”
“You’re stuck with them whether you love them or not,” Olsen said. Thankfully, for Olsen, he’s working with a cast he loves. “And I know everyone says this but we really did get lucky. I think Chris and LL Cool J are two really great examples of people that have managed to raise families under all sorts of circumstances with success and rises and falls in their own careers.”
That’s incredibly admirable in Olsen’s eyes, but he also views them as a family of his own.
“You know, LL is doing the best acting on the show. He’s crushing it right now and Chris is…. both of these guys, I have an older brother, but they’re both like two other older brothers for me,” he said.
That interview was in 2013, but the show is still going strong. With Olsen, Ll Cool J, and O’Donnell still on board, NCIS: Los Angeles has managed to keep a huge chunk of its main cast together. It’s something that other series in the NCIS franchise has struggled with.
Eric Olsen Now Has To Balance Family and Work Like LL Cool J and Chris O’ Donnell
Eric Olsen praised LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell for being able to raise families under the pressure of major acting jobs. Now, Olsen has three children with his wife, Sarah Wright.
His first child, Esme Olivia, was born three years after that interview in 2016.
Now, Olsen is about to celebrate the birthday of his youngest, Winter, who is about to be 1 year old.
‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ To Come Out in October
It’s going to be a fun fall for fans of the NCIS franchise. Before NCIS: Los Angeles comes out NCIS season 19 will premiere. It’s immediately followed by the brand new NCIS: Hawai’i starring Vanessa Lachey.
That should help some impatient NCIS: Los Angeles fans wait just a little bit longer before the show comes back. NCIS: Los Angeles comes back on October 10th on CBS.
