Intense TV fans have a way of creating some pretty elaborate and well-thought-out theories related to their favorite shows. Whether it’s predicting plot lines or “shipping” two characters before they’re together, there’s often a lot to predict and look forward to. It’s no different for “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
As perhaps the most violent and jaw-dropping of the “NCIS” franchise shows, there’s plenty of twists and turns always in store on the program.
Fans can predict, but it’s hard to definitively know what’s going to happen until it does. However, do members of the cast pay any attention to crazy fan theories?
Chris O’Donnell, who plays Special Agent G. Callen on the series, doesn’t really pay special attention to what fans are theorizing online.
“You know it’s funny, I don’t pay a ton of attention to it. I think some of the castmates do and I know the writers definitely pay attention to it and the producers. I’ll see occasionally things on Instagram, but I don’t tend to read comments and do deep dives into chat rooms and that sort of thing,” O’Donnell said during an interview with ET Canada in February.
At the end of the day, O’Donnell wants to just put as much attention and detail he can into his character. That is his number one priority.
“I just focus on playing the character that I’m playing and trying to understand the world that he’s in. I don’t think about the consequences of that at the time or how it’s going to impact the fans and what their reactions are going to be. I’m trying to just be true to what the writers have given me and what the directors are asking for,” O’Donnell also said during the interview.
Fan Theory About ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’
There’s been plenty of fan theories circulating online after the end of season 12 that provided some room for interpretation.
Some are particularly wild and outlandish, but anything can happen on “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
Fans are predicting that Kensi and Deeks, a fan-favorite couple, will be facing some trouble. The couple has been trying to have a baby together and start a family but has been having a hard time conceiving.
The show hinted at the possibility of the duo looking to adopt a child instead.
Recently, the ex-con David Kessler was given a Presidential pardon and was set free. Fans are worried that he will go after Kensi because she is responsible for putting him behind bars. Seeing as Kessler got out of prison with a pardon, his connections are pretty lengthy.
While the theory that he’s going to sabotage their family is a bit extreme, it certainly is a possibility. Writers of the show have struggled with whether or not to give Kensi and Deeks a family given their dangerous line of work.
“That’s been a big dilemma for us as writers, because you don’t want to do something that makes your characters look negligent. Would it be a wise decision to have a child when both of you are putting your lives in jeopardy every day? That’s a legitimate concern for the two of them, and something that we will have to explore as we move forward,” showrunner R. Scott Gemmill said in an interview with TV Insider.
