“Picking” the Best Cameos; Mark Harmon Welcomes American Pickers to ‘NCIS’

During a recent interview with Parade magazine, Harmon said that he had long been a fan of reality television star, Mike Wolf and his famous show, American Pickers

American Pickers first premiered in 2010. The popular show features Wolfe and his partner, Frank Fritz traveling the countryside from coast to coast finding lost and hidden treasures in the most unexpected places.

Wolfe and Fritz scour barns, sheds, homes, garages, and any other places they could find for valuables.

During the interview, Mark Harmon told Parade magazine that he got into the reality stars’ television series while working on floor exercises during recovery from recent knee surgery.

“ When I was rehabbing my knee and I was lying on the floor, doing my exercises, (the show) was on all the time,” Harmon said.  Harmon had surgery on his knee to repair an old football injury the actor sustained years ago.

During the season 15 episode, Wolfe guest-starred as himself. The episode follows characters, Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), and Ducky Mallard (David McCallum ) as they investigate an antique war stick. As it turns out, the 200-year-old antique could be the missing murder weapon from a 16-year-old murder case.

While Mike Wolfe plays himself in the “One Man’s Trash,” he also saves the day; helping the NCIS team solve a seemingly unsolvable murder.
