‘NCIS’ Alum Michael Weatherly in ‘Somewhere in Mexico’ in New Vacation Video

NCIS Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo was previously known for his love of the tropics during his time on the show. More recently, it seems his actor, Michael Weatherly, also shares a love for swaying palm trees and sunny beaches. The actor posted a brief clip of himself and his tropical surroundings “Somewhere in Mexico” on his Twitter page earlier today.

The actor slowly rotates the video around himself, before featuring his own face in the clip as he whispers, “Mexico,” eyebrow raised. View the very DiNozzo-like clip and narration below for yourself.

For the most part, the actor highlights the bright green vegetation, the aqua blue seas, the bright white umbrellas, and, of course, himself and his fetching hat.

Fans shared their love for the actor and their jealousy at his current hangout in the comments below the post.

“Enjoy your vacay!!!” wrote one follower. “Can’t wait for Bull to come back!!! Still miss you on NCIS though…”

Another wrote, “I can picture Dinozzo sitting on the beach, sipping a Mai Thai,” and truthfully, I think lots of “NCIS” fans privy to the post would agree.

‘NCIS’ Fans Prepare for the Worst With Season 19

While some “NCIS” fans still mourn the loss of Tony DiNozzo actor, Michael Weatherly, other fans are even more concerned with the fate of the show’s patriarch, Leroy Jethro Gibbs. As we all know, the season 18 finale saw the original cast member lying face down in a lake following the explosion of his boat, Rule 91. However, to the great relief of “NCIS” fans everywhere, Gibbs suddenly gained his bearings and began his watery trek to shore (at least, that’s what we’d assume).

However, following rumors that Gibbs’ actor, Mark Harmon, initially wanted to leave the set of “NCIS” prior to season 19, many of us wonder what the explosion could mean for his character. And for the rest of “NCIS” at large.

Theories have emerged posing Gibbs faked his death to pursue a serial killer, that the team was in on the plan, that the journalist, Marcie Warren (ironically played by Harmon’s real-life wife) was responsible, etc. However, one “NCIS” showrunner finally provided fans a little relief as he revealed that Gibbs is still going to be very much involved with his team following the explosion.

Showrunner Steven D. Binder told TVLine, “Gibbs has been hunting down this serial killer, and he’s doing it alone.” Obviously. But Binder continued, “He’s cut off from his team…but in the beginning episodes, that’s going to change.”

So, while things are still undefined surrounding Harmon’s decision whether or not to permanently leave the show and how involved his character will actually be in the new season, fans can at least take a breath knowing he will at least reunite in some form with the team he views as family.
