‘NCIS: New Orleans’ Star Lucas Black Shares Details About His Experience on the Set of ‘Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift’

During an interview with IGN, NCIS: New Orleans alum Lucas Black spoke about his experience on the set of the now widely popular action-packed movie Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift. When asked about what drew him to the role as Sean Boswell, Black stated, “You know, I’ve watched all of the Fast and the Furious films, and that’s really the type of movies I like to watch – action films; I don’t really watch movies a lot, but when I do I watch either action or comedy.”

The NCIS: New Orleans star then shared he knew the film would be cool for him. He also just wanted to be able to get in all the cars and drive them. “You know, that’s like a 23-year-old male’s dream, you know what I’m saying?”

When asked how familiar he was with drifting and racing cars before joining the film’s cast, the NCIS: New Orleans castmate admitted he never really heard of drifting at all. “I knew the concept of it when they told me, [but] I didn’t know that that’s what it was called,” he explained. The actor noted that he didn’t know that there was that kind of racing style out there.

“But they told me about it and they told me I was going to learn how to do it,” Black continued. “And go out on the race track and be taught by the best out there that knows how to do it.”
