Despite “NCIS: New Orleans” not being on the air anymore, that doesn’t mean star Lucas Black has forgotten the city and its people.

Black, who played Senior Field Agent Christopher LaSalle for the show’s first six seasons, has been working with his church in New Orleans. There’s definitely a lot of need as Hurricane Ida roared through the city and Southeastern Louisiana. Workers continue their rescue and repair missions around the area.

After being busy with Church of the King, Black shared an update with his Twitter followers on Saturday.

“NCIS: New Orleans” was on for seven seasons as part of the “NCIS” franchise on CBS.

Black had appeared in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” in 2006. He reportedly left the CBS series to spend more time with his family. But he’s also returned to “The Fast and Furious” franchise as Black appeared in the 2021 release “F9.”

The movie’s release was delayed from 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But it’s done quite a haul at the box office, grossing more than $700 million around the world.

Other movies that the “NCIS: New Orleans” actor starred in are “Crazy in Alabama,” “Friday Night Lights,” “Get Low,” and “Seven Days in Utopia.”

Lucas Black wasn’t the only NCIS: NOLA star deeply committed to family. In fact, his former costar, Scott Bakula, actually made a point of wanting to work with his wife on the series.

‘NCIS: New Orleans’ Star Scott Bakula Loved Working With Wife

When it came to playing Special Agent in Charge Dwayne “King” Cassius Pride, actor Scott Bakula had some special interest while starring on “NCIS: New Orleans.”

Bakula’s real-life wife, actress Chelsea Field, played Rita Devereaux, who was Pride’s wife on the CBS show.

Did it bother Bakula to have his wife as part of the cast? Absolutely not.

He talked about working with her in an interview with “Country Living.”

“I love working with her,” Bakula, who achieved stardom on TV with his role on “Quantum Leap,” said. “We’ve worked together a bunch before. She makes me a better actor because she works more intensely and more deeply than I tend to work.”

And what does Mrs. Bakula think about working with her husband? She shared her thoughts in a 2020 interview with TV Insider.

“Pride has a lot of characteristics that are essential to Scott,” Field said. “His integrity, his commitment to work, his maybe overreaching responsibility sometimes. Scott is an amazing human being … Sometimes I don’t even have to act!”

They share two children and dated for 15 years before marrying back in 2009.

There is no word on what Bakula has in the works after “NCIS: New Orleans” wasn’t picked up for another season. But he probably will not be without any new role soon, so stay tuned.
