Lucas Black Talks Struggles While Starring on the CBS’ Hit SeriesNCIS: New Orleans’

In a recent interview with Legacy Starts Today host Lee Domingue, Lucas Black discusses the struggles he faced while starring on NCIS: New Orleans.

Lucas admits that throughout his career there have been concerns about his family life. Black also says he noticed how the entertainment industry destroys families.

“The way [the industry is] run, you’re traveling. It’s a very fast pace. Lots of long hours, especially in television,” he reveals.

He then explains that his NCIS schedule would involve 70 hours per week and would include late-night shoots. The work schedule obviously prevented him from spending more time with his family.

Black then says his departure from NCIS was good timing.

“It was time for me to leave,” he recalls. “I felt like my job there was finished. You an’t keep going at that pace, and I think have a healthy marriage. It’s not sustainable; it’s inevitable that something bad’s gonna happen if you stay working at that pace.”

Black starred on NCIS: New Orleans from its first season in 2014 until 2019. His character, Special Agent Christopher LaSalle, was killed by the show’s villain Eddie Barrett. He made his NCIS franchise debut during NCIS’ 11th season. During his time on the series, Lucas starred alongside Scott Bakula, CCH Pounder, Rob Kerkovich, and Vanessa Ferlito.

Although Lucas isn’t looking to make an appearance on the small screen for a while, he is in the new The Fast and The Furious film, F9. The action-packed movie premiered at the end of June and has far brought in $446.2 million from the box office.
