NCIS: New Orleans is going out with at least one final sprint and special agent King Pride proclaiming “God I love this city” at least one more time.

NCIS: New Orleans takes a final bow Sunday night with an episode entitled “Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler.” Down in Louisiana, that’s called let the good times roll.

And from an NCIS: New Orleans clip of the finale, we know Pride (Scott Bakula) and Sebastian (Rob Kerkovich) are chasing a subject through one of the best parts of the Crescent City — the French Quarter.

The two are sprinting after a person of interest through Jackson Square, which is on this side of the Mississippi River. And the two receive some aid from a local. You hear a gunshot. Then one of the buggy drivers who line up to give tourists a carriage ride takes out a whip. There’s a crack. Down goes the suspect.

Pride looks around the square as a group of New Orleans musicians strikes up a song in celebration. Pride is beaming and he throws up a fist to the sky. Yes, there’s nothing like NCIS: New Orleans.

CBS Decided to Cancel NCIS: New Orleans After 7th Season

CBS opted to cancel NCIS: New Orleans after its seventh season.

Bakula is the star of the show. He admitted that he was shocked by the decision to cancel the series, which was the second spinoff of the original NCIS.

“I appreciate they’re sticking to us and sticking by us and that transfers to all around the planet,” Bakula told TVInsider about NCIS: New Orleans. “We’re in 200+ markets all over the world. We’ve had a great run. They’ve been very supportive. They seem to have liked the show, they like the stories we told, the characters on the show.

“And that’s why we do it. We do it because we want people to grow a relationship and attach and invite us into their homes. And we don’t take that lightly. I never have. I honor them and we have always had had a great relationship and I look forward to continuing that in the future.”

The Show Dealt with Pandemic in Season Premiere

When NCIS: New Orleans premiered this season, it immediately dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on the unit and the city. But as part of the plot, Rita, Pride’s girlfriend, moves back to New Orleans to quarantine with him.

And it appears that Pride and Rita will get married in the finale. Loretta Wade (CCH Pounder) the coroner of Jefferson Parish, officiates the wedding. At least, that’s according to the clip CBS released to promo the finale. Will there be a weird ending? We don’t know, so stay tuned.

Chelsea Fields who plays Rita, is really married to Scott Bakula. They’ve been a couple for years, making it official in 2009. So it’s not acting when the two look at each other. They make a beautiful couple.

In the clip, you hear Pride say “To be able to share a moment like this, with the people we love, in this city that we love, is a gift.”

Stay tuned to Sunday’s finale to say good bye to NCIS: New Orleans.
