NCIS: Los Angeles alum Renee Felice Smith took to her Instagram on Tuesday (July 6th) to share some adorable pictures of her mother’s birthday celebration.
“Happiest of days with the birthday girl, my momma,” the former NCIS castmate captions the post, which features photographs of her toasting her mother at a meal.
Followers of the NCIS star also chimed in to wish her mother a happy birthday, along with complimenting the photos. The actress is currently promoting her latest children’s book Hugo and the Impossible Thing. The cute book became No. 1 in the WHB In-Store Bestellers list last month. Renee’s Hugo and the Impossible Thing is the story about a dog, named Hugo, who is on a mission to conquer the “Impossible Thing.” The brave little dog travels through a forest to prove he is up for the challenge and learns that what may seem impossible might just actually be possible after all. The NCIS alum notably co-wrote the book with her partner Chris Gabriel.
Renee Felice Smith Discusses Her NCIS Character’s Big Decision
In a recent interview with TV Insider, Renee Felice Smith discusses her NCIS character, Nell Jones, and her big decision to leave the show. Nell notably left Los Angeles to co-run the international office of Hetty Lange’s company in Tokyo.
When asked whether or not Nell would be returning to NCIS, Renee says “The door always remains for Nell at NCIS, but it may be time for her to be pushed out of the nest for a bit and see where this new opportunity takes her,” she explains. Smith then states that fans will have to wait and see with this new chapter.
Renee also describes the NCIS character’s decision to be a smart and safe choice. “
Although she will always be committed to her team, which has essentially become her family, I think she needs t put herself first when it comes to this sort of decision.”
Smith then reflects on her time on the NCIS set. “I think I spent more time at NCIS: LA than I did it my entire school career.” She states that the NCIS was an absolute gift to her and such an incredible opportunity.
Along with Smith, Barrett Foa, who plays Eric Beale, has also left the series. In regards to her thoughts about Nell and Eric’s relationship after leaving NCIS, Renee adds, “Your guess is as good as mine as far as what will happen in the future with Eric and Nell.”
NCIS: Los Angeles is returning this fall for its 13th season. Those coming for the upcoming season include Chris O’Donnell, Daniel Ruah, LL Cool J, and Eric Christian Olsen.
