‘NCIS’ Star Brian Dietzen Rocks Bare Chest Look Enjoying ‘Beach Daze’ in New Selfie

NCIS star Brian Dietzen just dropped a fun new selfie enjoying the final days of summer. Dietzen, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer on the series, has been on the show since the early years. He’ll return to the series for season 19, making him one of the only cast members from the early days to do so.

But when he’s not working, he seems to know how to have a good time, hanging out on the beach in Santa Barbara and soaking up some summer sun.

“Beach daze in Santa Barbara,” the NCIS actor wrote in the caption.

NCIS fans loved the photo. Many were quick to comment and tell him how excited they are for season 19.

“Looks like fun! Counting the days until September 20th!” one fan said. Season 19 premieres on September 20th at 9 pm est. It’s a change of pace from NCIS’s typical Tuesday timeslot.

“Have fun,” another fan wrote. “Can’t wait to watch the new season.”

Dietzen is Grateful to Play Jimmy Palmer on ‘NCIS’

Despite the fact that he’s one of the few remaining members of the original cast, Dietzen is incredibly grateful to still be on board. In an announcement post about season 19’s release date, Dietzen talked about the new timeslot and how excited he is to return.

“So grateful to get to play this Jimmy Palmer fella for a 19th season!” Dietzen wrote in an Instagram post. “Premiering September 20th at 9 pm. Yes, that’s a Monday, and yes, that’s a new time slot for us too, so plan accordingly.”

Dietzen will be very needed next year as NCIS is losing two familiar faces. Mark Harmon is taking a major step back, only appearing as Gibbs in a handful of episodes. Meanwhile, Emily Wickersham has left the show altogether. The agent Bishop actress said her goodbyes on Instagram after the season 18 finale.

Not only are two people either stepping back or leaving altogether, but NCIS is adding two new actors to the full-time cast: Katrina Law and Gary Cole. Law was in the final episodes of season 18. She played Special Agent Jessica Knight and will continue to do so in season 19.

Cole will play special Agent Alden Park, but not much else is known about his character. The change in cast has prompted fans to worry about the future of the show. Dietzen is one of the few people remaining on the cast who plays a familiar character.

But fans shouldn’t worry too much. Even without Harmon, the show is still incredibly successful. Even with all of this change, NCIS has remained the top-rated scripted drama in the world. And if something happens to NCIS, there’s always NCIS: Los Angeles and the brand new NCIS: Hawai’i.
