Back in 2016, “That ’70s Show” went to “The Ranch.” Wilmer Valderrama currently plays Special Agent Nick Torres on “NCIS.” He has been a part of the main cast of the show since the 14th season started in 2016.
Right around the time he joined “NCIS,” Valderrama made an appearance on the Netflix show called “The Ranch.” He had a recurring guest role in the series for three different episodes.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the former Fez star played a character named Umberto. He was a former ranch hand at the Iron River Ranch. His character had not seen the others for years but just moved back into town. He happens to be working at the My Little Pony Ranch nearby, which is a hilariously amazing name. He is also incredibly close to two characters on the show, which happen to be his former “That ’70s Show” co-stars.
His character was a very close friend to Colt Bennett (Ashton Kutcher) and Rooster Bennett (Danny Masterson). The two work on a Colorado cattle ranch that is owned by their father Beau (Sam Elliott). The show ran for four seasons in eight different parts.
Before acting on “The Ranch” together, the trio had starred in eight seasons of “That ’70s Show” on Fox. The episodes of “The Ranch” where Valderrama appeared were also directed by David Trainer. He directed all the episodes of the original sitcom.
“The three of us are hooligans, laughing our a**es off and being clowns and not really taking it seriously … Having David Trainer yell at us like we were 20 again,” Wilmer Valderrama said on the E! Red Carpet.
It proved to be quite the reunion. Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp from “That ’70s Show” also had recurring roles in “The Ranch.”
Wilmer Valderrama Family
While Wilmer Valderrama has stayed close to his “That ’70s Show” family, he’s also been building his own little family.
The “NCIS” star has been engaged to Amanda Pacheco since January 2020. The two had their first daughter together, Nakano Oceana Valderrama, on February 15, 2021.
He recently spoke out on how much he adores his three-month-old daughter.
“I will say that I’ve always known why I do what I do. I’ve always said that if you woke up this morning, you’re already winning. When I wake up every morning and feel like I won because I just woke up, and then I go into her little room and wake her up in the morning before she feeds and see her eyes open, it’s the biggest win I’ve ever had in my life,” Valderrama said to SiriusXM on June 7.
The couple got their daughter’s name after an inspiring trip to Japan. They landed on Nakano because it’s the name of a female samurai named Takeko Nakano. The couple said “I love you” here for the first time and really decided they were going to be together long-term.
As a father he’s already hoping that his daughter will grow up in a society that sees and respects her.
“And that is something that is different. It makes me swing harder. Everything you see me do professionally and soulfully and spiritually and, specifically, with my mind, soul and my body, it’s to not just provide but create the right example. I start thinking about her generation and what toys is she gonna play with? Are they gonna look like her? Is there heroes that look like her? Is there women that she can aspire to be?” Valderrama said.
