“NCIS” actress Emily Wickersham knew before joining the show in a full-time role that it wouldn’t always be easy.

Wickersham, who joined the show in its 11th season on CBS before leaving at the end of last season, took the spot vacated by Cote de Pablo and her character, Ziva David, on the show. Now Wickersham, who played Eleanor Bishop, knew that she would have big shoes to fill.

“NCIS” fans loved Ziva David, de Pablo’s character, and seeing someone come in and fill that spot on the show brought mixed reviews. Some liked Wickersham while others didn’t want someone filling that role’s spot.

‘NCIS’ Former Star Understood Popularity of Ziva David Character

“I try not to read some of the stuff online, but for the most part I feel like people have embraced the character in a much more positive way than I expected,” Wickersham said in a 2014 interview with CBS’s “Watch Magazine.”

“People were very attached to Ziva!” Wickersham said. “I wasn’t replacing her, but it was scary to come into that. People are crazy about the show. [We] have such wonderful fans.”

Bishop had developed some chemistry with Nicholas Torres, played by Wilmer Valderrama. Well, things reached a point in the 18th season finale where Bishop and Torres finally kissed. It ends up being a bit of a moot point, though, as Bishop tells Torres that she’s training for an undercover assignment and leaving the country. She, in fact, left “NCIS” and what happens next will have to be something that will come up this fall in the 19th season opener.

Now that she is no longer on the show, what’s next for Wickersham’s career? No news has been given out from her or anyone regarding a next series or future plans. Still, Wickersham probably is looking over options for her next career movie. “NCIS” will roll on without her presence.

Wickersham Had Film Role Where She Shared Screen With ‘Yellowstone’ Actor

Before TV fame hit her doorstep, Wickersham actually built up quite a resume’ in her career.

Other TV shows where she is a guest star include “Gossip Girl,” “The Bridge,” “The Sopranos,” “Trauma,” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”

One movie is the 2012 thriller “Gone”.  Wickerson is Molly Conway and the role is pretty much a bit part. Nevertheless, she costars with “Yellowstone” star Wes Bentley.

Fans of that TV show obviously recognize Bentley from his role as Jamie Dutton on the very popular Paramount series.

So, Wickersham can say she was in a movie with a member of the powerful Dutton family. Much like others who have followed the actress’ journey to “NCIS,” we’ll have to simply wait and see where she pops up again in the entertainment industry.
