Nicolas Cage’s Strange New Movie Set To Premiere Next Month

Get ready Nicolas Cage fans!

The popular actor has a new film coming your way. And, making that news even better is the fact that he claims it is one of the craziest films he has made during his decades-long Hollywood career.

According to PopCulture, Cage’s new film will be available to watch through video-on-demand services beginning on Friday, Sept. 17. It is titled, “Prisoners of the Ghostland.” And, according to Nicolas Cage, it is “the wildest movie” of his career.

“Prisoners of the Ghostland” was shown in January 2021 during this year’s 2021 Sundance Film Festival. It is a production of RLJE Films.

If Nicolas Cage said a movie is crazy, fans should be able to trust him. After all, the 57-year-old actor has had his share – maybe more than his share – of crazy performances in some very crazy movies. Who could forget “The Wicker Man,” “Vampire’s Kiss,” and “Face/Off,” just to name a few.

In the upcoming “Prisoners of the Ghostland,” Cage plays the character of Hero. This character is a “notorious criminal.”

New Nicolas Cage Film Also Stars Sofia Boutella and Nick Cassavetes

Nicolas Cage’s character is tasked with the very serious job of finding the governor’s daughter, Bernice. Playing this character is actress Sofia Boutella. Moviegoers will recognize Boutella for her roles in such films as “Kingsman: The Secret Service” and “Atomic Blonde.”

In order to save Bernice, who has gone into what has been described as a “dark supernatural universe,” the character played by Nicolas Cage is required to face a diabolic curse that has taken control of the Ghostland. IMDb describes the plot of the upcoming film this way: “A notorious criminal must break an evil curse in order to rescue an abducted girl who has mysteriously disappeared.”

In addition to Cage and Boutella, “Prisoners of the Ghostland” also stars Bill Moseley.

This actor is also known for his roles in such famous horror films as “The Devil’s Rejects,” “House of 1,000 Corpses,” and the 2007 Rob Zombie remake of “Halloween.”

Moseley plays the character of The Governor in this upcoming Nicolas Cage film.

Also part of the “Prisoners of the Ghostland” cast is Nick Cassavetes who is playing the character of Psycho. Film fans will recognize Cassavetes as the director of the popular film “The Notebook.” That film starred his mother, Gena Rowlands. He is the son of Rowlands and the famous director and actor John Cassavetes. Nick also appeared in the popular comedy, “The Hangover: Part II,” as well as in Cage’s 1997 film, “Face/Off.”
