Unless you’re planning on binge-watching older episodes in the “One Chicago” universe, all three shows will be off your screen for a bit.

“Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago P.D.” are all taking a break with new episodes for a little hiatus. Fans of the NBC programs should be used to this at this point. The “One Chicago” shows always take a hiatus as the holiday season approaches. It’s not uncommon for many series during this time of the year.

‘One Chicago’ Hiatus Coming Up

This year, fans got a good amount of episodes before having to say goodbye. Due to a lot of entertainment world delays as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 was not as fortunate. There were only two episodes that aired before the show went into hiatus last year. Due to protocols meant to keep people on set safe, “One Chicago” was able to get into the filming groove during the Fall 2021 schedule.

Tonight, Wednesday, November 10 will be the last episode of “One Chicago” shows this entire month. If you’re worried about going without the Chicago drama shows for that long, NBC is airing the season premieres for each show on November 17.

Sadly, the return date for the three dramas is currently unknown at the moment. Derek Haas, the showrunner over on “Chicago Fire,” spoke on it a little with TV Line. He noted that the ninth episode of the series is “on an island” in December. This could mean it will air in the middle of the month and be the only episode to air in December. The other episodes will likely follow closely behind sometime in January.

Stella Kidd Return and a Christmas Episode

For fans of Miranda Rae Mayo as the firefighter named Stella Kidd, you may be in luck. Haas also said she will grace the screen again “before the end of this calendar year.”

Despite a hiatus, “Chicago Fire” is really hoping to make the most of the holiday season. It has been revealed that the ninth episode is a holiday extravaganza. “Episode 9 is going to make the Hallmark Channel jealous of our holiday episode,” Haas said.

It’s the first time the show is doing any kind of holiday episode and fans are already pumped for it. This is mostly because “Chicago” Fire” fans think it will be full of moments between Stella Kidd and Kelly Severide (played by Taylor Kinney) romantic moments. They got engaged during the season nine episode titled “A White-Knuckle Panic.”

One person on Twitter wrote, “A Hallmark-style Chicago Fire episode? We better get some Stella and Severide romance.”

It seems likely given just how in love the two are last time we left them. Miranda Rae Mayo left the show for a short time to launch her “Girls on Fire” program over in Boston.
