Ozzy Osbourne is feeling the Christmas spirit, and he doesn’t care who knows it. The rock star channeled his best Ebenezer Scrooge in this throwback photo.

Osbourne loves a good ugly Christmas sweater as much as the next person. In this photo, he wore what appears to be Dr. Seuss’s Grinch mixed with Bigfoot. The green creature is practically growling from its Ozzy Osbourne shaped basket. Not to be outdone, Osbourne, his daughter Kelly, and friend Billy Morrison gave their own scowls for the camera. Morrison is a guitarist famous for working with Billy Idol.

It’s unknown what Christmas this photo was from, a recent one given Osbourne and Kelly’s ages. But Osbourne is apparently looking back on happier times. Amid a pandemic, Osbourne has also recently battled neck injury and the onset of Parkinson’s disease.

On Twitter, he wrote, “Bah Humbug from the Ghost of Christmas past, back when you could gather safely.”

Ozzy Osbourne Hosted a Christmas Special in the 1980s

That’s not the only Ghost of Christmas’ Past that Ozzy Osbourne recently conjured up. The rock star also shared this vintage clip from the 1980s when he and guitarist Zakk Wylde hosted the “Headbangers Ball” Christmas special. “Headbangers” was an MTV program that aired originally from the 1980s to 1990s. It featured heavy metal and hard rock music videos.

Osbourne appeared on the show in 1988, though viewers might not recognize him at first. Wearing a mask with a hook, Osbourne was a Santa Claus you didn’t want coming down your chimney. The two musicians seemed to have a lot of fun on the set, which featured a Christmas tree decorated in skulls.

But the duo had trouble getting through their lines, cracking up and playing with the set’s props instead. It’s the kind of infectious glee that’s hilarious to watch. But that’s not the only time Osbourne has cast himself as Santa Claus to horrifying effect.
