Rock god Ozzy Osbourne is mourning the legendary guitar player Eddie Van Halen after his untimely death.

Osbourne, like much of the rest of the music world, took to Twitter with a sweet tribute to the fallen rocker.

“@EddieVanHalenwas one of the nicest guys I ever worked with and we shared so many laughs together,” Osbourne wrote. His influence on music and especially the guitar has been immeasurable. He was an absolute legend. Eddie, I’ll see you on the other side, my friend. Love, Ozzy.”

Van Halen passed away on October 6 after succumbing to a lengthy battle with cancer.

This isn’t the first time in even the last month that Osbourne has taken the chance to mourn another fallen musician. Drummer Lee Kerslake, part of the band Uriah Heep, passed away from prostate cancer at the end of September.

Kerslake had drummed for Ozzy a long while ago, but even though the pair had not seen each other in some time, Osbourne made sure to immortalize Kerslake with a social media post.

“It’s been 39 years since I’ve seen Lee but he lives forever on the records he played on for me, Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman. Lee Kerslake RIP,” Osbourne shared on his Facebook account.
