Paul Newman was an iconic actor, director, race car driver, and entrepreneur. But he was also a father.

He got his names in films like “The Hustler,” “The Color of Money,” “Slap Shot,” “Cool Hand Luke,” and “The Verdict.” He also won several championships in the Sports Car Club of America. This got him a role in his last ever role as a voice in “Cars.”

Paul Newman is an incredibly popular name in the entertainment industry. Besides his career life, he also had a very active personal life. He was married twice. His first marriage was with Jackie Witte from 1949 to 1958. They had two daughters together, Susan and Stephanie Kendall, and a son, Scott.

His son was in films like “Breakheart Pass,” “The Towering Inferno,” and “Fraternity Row.” He died from a drug overdose in 1978 and his father started the Scott Newman Center for drug abuse prevention to honor him.

Susan makes documentary films. She has some Broadway credits including “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” and had a small role in “Slap Shot” with her father. She is a co-producer and Emmy-nominee for the telefilm “The Shadow Box.”

Newman met his second wife, Joanne Woodward in 1953. She was a popular actress as well. They were married for 50 years until Newman passed away in 2008. They had three daughters together Elinor “Nell” Teresa, Melissa “Lissy” Stewart, and Claire “Clea” Olivia.

Elinor is a former child actress. Now she is an environmentalist, biologist, and owner of the organic food and pet food company called Neman’s Own Organics. This was once owned by her father.

According to a Vanity Fair article, the brand was originally given to Bob Forrester after Newman’s death. It left all the daughters “distressed by the situation.” Newman’s Own Foundation is has raised more than $550 million for charities and is a huge part of Newman’s legacy.

Melissa is an artist and singer. She was in the film “Mr. & Mrs. Bridge” amongst other roles.

Paul Newman was a family man. He once said about his wife,”Why go out for a hamburger when you have steak at home?”

Paul Newman Camp Damaged

Newman was a part of many different philanthropic endeavors during his life. He donated to charity, was the co-founder of a nonprofit that helped develop sustainable drinking water, and created a network of summer camps for children with a serious illness. The summer camps were part of the SeriousFun Children’s Network that Newman founded.

One those summer camps called Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, Connecticut has suffered from fire damage.

According to CNN, the main building and nearby facility have fire damage. The fire destroyed arts and crafts, a woodshop, a cooking zone, and the camp store buildings.

Luckily, there are no injuries from the fire. Certain buildings were also saved as well, but the cause of the fire is still unknown.
