Following the news that he has been named 2021’s Sexiest Man Alive by People, Paul Rudd is opening up about how he maintains his youthful looks at the age of 52.

During his recent chat with CNN, Paul Rudd shared his ultimate secret to keeping his youth glow – with a joke. “This is all done with smoke and mirrors,” the Ghostbusters Afterlife star admitted. “I’m a hologram. I’m like the new ABBA concert.”

Paul Rudd also opened up to the media outlet about joining the Ghostbuster franchise. “It’s so crazy, I didn’t know there would be more of [these films]. But I was a fan of them. Certainly as a kid. It’s been an exciting thing to be around and see these guys.”

Directed by Jason Reitman, Ghostbusters: Afterlife follows a single mom and her two kids who arrive in a small town. They soon discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather, Egon Spengler (played by the late actor Harold Ramis), left behind.

Paul Rudd Reacts to Being Named ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ in 2021

People announced that Paul Rudd was selected as Sexiest Man Alive last week. While chatting with the media outlet, the Ant-Man star revealed his reaction to scoring the title. “I do have an awareness. Enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘What?’”

Paul Rudd also stated that he doesn’t believe this is false humility. He admitted that there are other people that should have received the title before him. The actor then shared that his wife was the one who told him about the title.

“She was stupefied,” Paul Rudd recalled. “But you know, she was very sweet about it. After some giggling and shock, she said, ‘Oh, they got it right.’ And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what’s she going to say?”

The Clueless actor goes on to joke that he expects his friends to give him so much grief about his latest milestone. “As they should. I would. I mean, I’m going to lean into it hard. I’m going to own this. I’m not going to be like, ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’ I’m getting business cards made.”

Paul Rudd also noted that his friends will destroy him and he expects them to. He then adds what he hopes he’ll receive from his new title. “I’m hoping now that I’ll finally be invited to some of those sexy diners with [George] Clooney, [Brad] Pitt], and [Michael] B Jordan. And I figure I’ll be on a lot more yachts. I’m excited to expand my yachting life.”
